I hate to be another post referring to Cap disappearing acts but I need advice from the best. A cap man and I hit it off quick, but both of our lives got pretty busy right around the same time. He stopped responding - I recognized it, gave him his space and did my own thing. A couple of weeks and no response later, I figured it was a lost cause and moved on. Fast forward four months, and he sends me a message.

So caps, I ask you: do you return from a silence for a quick ego boost (where I'll be a sucker in responding and playing into that), or is there a chance of sincerely revisiting potential?

I should've mentioned this in the first post - sorry - the timeline goes: there were some work complications that affected both of us getting closer, and I told him I recognized them and that I understood. Then conversation naturally fizzled out. However those complications cleared rather quickly, and granted, I understand he doesn't owe me anything, but his lack of response after the complications cleared kind of showed me he wasn't interested, so I backed off. Now, four months later, he sends a message - so I guess I'm just questioning motive.. I've read that sometimes caps just check in to see if they've retained your interest, but aren't looking for much else. Would it be wise to respond at all?

I'd have written him off. 4 months later, I'd still be nice but wouldn't take him seriously.

And to answer the question, if I disappear on someone for 4 months, I'm really not that into them and you shouldn't take me seriously.

Agreed in general. Unless there were additional complications that you may not be aware of. What did he say when he reappeared? What was the tone before? Friendly? Flirtatious? To what degree?

What did his message say?... I know Caps usually keep it casual when they reach out at first. Testing the waters.
