You often take pride in how logical, rational and practical you are though dont you feel that sometimes your very pronounced tendency towards conservatism/traditionalism gets in the way of your rational thinking? Meaning, sometimes you follow certain idea's simply cause they have proven to work in the past though deep inside you do know you should be opting for a different idea that makes sense to you too but you're afraid to follow cause it is "too new"?

i hear what you are saying and i'm not sure about other caps, though i'm guessing theirs is a similar thinking, but for me it's a risk assessment. if there's something i'm after, sometimes, i'll go the tried and true route gauranteed to push me forward. im not really sure what specifically you're referring to, so i'm answering kind of vaguely and abstractly. sometimes i'm not so orthodox. most of the time i'm really unorthodox actually. i'll make moves depending on my aims, what is at stake, where all the influencing factors are laying, how much time i have... all that jazz. it's like chess.

capsag cusp and mars in aquarius keeps me from any preconceived structures or molds usually, but tradition can also be a good way to start. sometimes i honestly wish i were more traditionally and structurally inclined. but even if my methods seem mad, there is always a plan in my head. sometimes the plan is no plan at all.

but another thing you have to understand is that in a capricorn's mind... a traditional idea might run through our mind as if it were our own idea. i hope that makes sense. another way to describe it is that even if tradition hadn't presented the idea to us... we would have likely come up with it on our own.

Not a Cappy sun, but have cap in my chart, saturn is strong too, and i am not a risk taker (since you mentioned aquarius being after cap)

but here's the thing: My grandmother, is not a risk-taker (capricorn) BUT my mother in law, is more of a risk taker (she has aquarius venus) and takes risks even going on adventures and traveling to routes not usually taken, or just being bold. My hubby and I would never do that, we go safe routes.

as for religion, she is definitely more risk taking in the left wingest, liberal ways. I'm much much more traditional than she is, although for sure, she is down with the family tradition.

Also, isn't Jupiter more the risk-taker? "expansion" ....What if Caps have strong Sagittarius (ie, stellium in them?) If that's true for instance, then the risk taking was too much and got wild, so therefore, capricorn came after to settle everything down. That's when it was time to get down to business and no more playing around going adventuring like a wild horse.
