Co Workers - Erg!!!

This thread is for venting about co workers.

Okay, I've got to vent. So the virgo gets a job offer and uses it to manipulate the boss into giving her more money. The girl doesn't even earn what she was making, she's late EVERY day, non-productive and constantly so behind in her work the boss has to pitch in all the time to catch her up. Now she's staying and making MORE?!?!?! If I tried this tactic, I'm sure I'd get hit with buh-bye, don't let the door hit ya on the arse on your way out.

Them Virgos are okay workers, but their people skills take them pretty darn far. I work with one and she takes about 50 smoke breaks a day lol, but EVERYONE loves her. She's sweet. That alone makes her a necessity to the company. She can deal with any and everyone, which is really just as important as anything else.

A Virgo Co-Worker pulled that same move on our boss 2x in her 5 years with the company! But she was a good worker overall, despite her hostile energy. She was very intimidating to everyone. A Cancer co-worker followed her footsteps and used the same move on our boss for more money. She got her raise and only comes in 3 days MAYBE a week.

Ive decided virgos for me make good friends but I cannot work for them. All the ones Ive worked or live with get nit picky about the dumbest things, would rather order people aroumd than actually know how to do it themselves and have to be clean all the time. My one boss could not give me 5 min to get my bearings before she would get annoyed and clean. At the end of the day like I said they make good supportive friends for me but I never want to work for one again!

haha well this is funny! I had two very different experiences with Virgos one was actually pretty damn good the other one not so much but in both cases I don't think either of them wanted much help.

First one I trained up to run the bar but her organisational skills were all over the place, didn't know how to manage people at all. LibraCUSP will totally get this. It was peak hour for coffees and she persisted to be on her own on the espresso machine. Walked up and suggest maybe she should get someone to either get the shots rolling or do the milk. Snapped at me and said she doesn't need any help. She wonders why she didn't pass her trial as a supervisor *shrugs* I even told her I couldn't handle the volume of coffee fast enough and I've been at it for years.

Second one knew everything well did his job well but loves leaving a mess. Bit of fun and games with the drink gun which I don't mind but it's rather hard to maintain cleanliness of the store when he decides to go out of the way to spray it everywhere. It was a small bar so cleaning is a responsibility for the night crew. I rostered him on nights to see what the others had to put up with. Gave me a bitching and left. Ah well.

There are perks in every sign though. A fellow Aqua definitely had the superiority complex at work, lovely worker but always had excuses for being late. Let that one go too, I can tolerate 5 to 10 minute lateness but no calls in 30 minutes? constantly? gone.

The Libra who tried to charm the pants off everyone and try to get away with almost no work and takes frequent bathroom breaks? The day she asked to sit outside because her friend upset her (which by the way they spent a good hour talking whilst not working) I asked her to go home permanently.

*shrugs* I like being the boss sometimes but I must come across as bit of an asshole myself.

We only have one espresso machine and not a lot of room in our store so double barring is not an option. I'm all for accepting help and support on the bar BUT I can not stand someone who does unnessisary steps slowing me or whoever is on bar down rather than speeding the process up. Messiness is not an option. My brain is cluster fucked when everything is everywhere, not labeled or dated, spills everywhere, raspberry syrup splattered all over the walls, crusted milk pitchers and underneathe everything, it's embarrassing.

I am an awesome manager. We have a lot of fun, laugh often, sing tons but I am the cleaning standard nazi. I'm sure they get annoyed with it. Infact, they whine a lot about cleaning drains, etc. Especially the openers. Just because you're here at 4am doesn't mean you get away with not doing anything but making drinks. What's that? Oh, I'm sorry. Fucking do it. Get all your shit done first so we can play when it's all done.
