confident capricorn guy turns shy?

what would make a normally confident capricorn guy, whos had lots of girlfriends, be shy with a girl hes liked for years? Now that shes admitted she likes him back, he maintains that he likes her, yet hes kinda backed away? (both single)

hes normally flirty and always texting with her but now hes backed off, and claims hes 'shy' around her? shy about making a 'move' with her.

can this have a good outcome?

It might be that we're normally confident around regular women, but shy around the woman we REALLY like... I've always been confident around women, and dated a good amount of them too, BUT I would always be shy around this one girl who I liked and I knew liked me for years... I guess insecurities plays a role when we feel the relationship isn't just a "regular" relationship.

We ended up together... I just told her "You make me shy cause I actually like you" lol... but our rollercoaster relationship came to an end a while back!!!
