Masking the Virgo Sun?

Almost everyone I've known from college onward (including closer friends) are shocked when they find out I'm a Virgo. Often to the point of, "No way! you must be a Leo or a cusp, ect" (I'm not)

Weirdly, I'm very much a Virgo, and seem to do 99% of the things everyone on here complain about with...Virgos.

Could my moon and Ascendant be masking my Sun this much? I know they are kind of all three opposites of each other. Or would another planet be the cause of this? I don't really know much about the other planets.

I should add, my Mercury is Virgo, and that's it for earth signs in my chart (except Neptune in Cap)

Fair point. I guess it was the consistency of getting that response, that got me wondering why. Especially when most of the time this happened, I wasn't trying very hard to blend in, or make a positive impression

Yes of course your moon and rising change your personality. The sag makes you appear more adventurous, free, fiery. The moon mixes it all up, Ive never been able to guess anything with people with pisces moon. And the two together, Forget about it. It must be impossible to guess your sign.
But youre not a mess, like you say on your profile, youre just a mutable type, with gemini, those make up the mutables, they so agile mentally they just change to fit circumstances and theyre never affected by stuff. Like water.
Cardinals are initiators, they try to change stuff (can cap Aries lib)
Fixed signs are soverign, they wait for things to change around them, cause they re the boss (Leo aqu tau sco)
