I don't know if any of this will help. My husband and I had NO funds this year, so we:
Regifted like crazy (even stuff we bought for ourselves- we just searched the entire house)
Gave our services- I do massage and he has landscaping/ construction skills. Pet care and cleaning is good, too
Gave photos- I had a collection of photos I took of folks but which they had never seen. Went to the discount store, bought pretty frames for $ 1, and gave the photos as gifts.
Used Amazon.com- because stuff can be dirt cheap there (tried thrift stores, too, but that can be time-consuming)
Made things- crafts and artwork
Took people somewhere- my grandma would rather spend the day with me driving a scenic road, having a picnic, seeing a storytelling festival, etc, than get another object she doesn't really need
And do you have a Ross store where you live? Omigosh, they're the best! I got my sister a pair of organic Cuddleduds long johns that she wanted for $ 6 instead of $ 30.
^ These are GREAT ideas. 🙂
