Difference in sex partners

Gem and I ended up talking last night about his ex and their sex life.
We are both kinky and we get along very well in the bedroom. He told me he never fell more open to talk about what he's into than with me.
While we make love too, he likes to control me, and I trust him. Major turn on for him. We even have this little slave/master game going on.

I asked him about how controlling he was with his ex, and he said that while she was submissive, he didn't control her because he loved her too much to do so.
So when I asked him what was different with me, he couldn't explain it. But said that there are a lot of things he's into he never told her because of just how their relationship was.

So Gems, do you see your sexual partners as two different kinds like he is?
What's your logical explanation for it?

I will be more of a sexual freak with the guy I love who im committed to, hey a guys got to earn his stripes/strikes? ;D .. Im not giving nothing that good up front lol
