Anyone here who's been told that they have this, or know someone with it?
Chronic depression
Posted by starloverMy dad too lol. And I don't know.. I've been feeling like this for many years (of my short life) and I'm starting to notice it now, I was just used to it.
My dad used to have it a lot
Are you suffering from it rise?
Posted by Vixen2Do you know how she got over it so far?
My mother was diagnosed with this some years ago...she is much much better now.
@blowmymind what are your placements? And how are you now?
@OP
An close relative has it (libra) and she has been drugged, no end, since childhood until now that they are experimenting with removing the drugs she doesn't need to keep her alive(past medical issues.) She feels better, actually, not a lot, but better and the medicine was beginning to be really tough on her body, so just that was a relief.
I'm not trying to tell you not to take any medicine - if you need it, you need it. Just be careful.
For myself, it's not chronic, but more up and down in periods.
@BlowMyMind
I have actually read that sag is prone to depression. It greatly surprised me, but they explained it like if a sag runs into trouble to that degree, they don't know how to handle it. Must admit that I don't remember it exactly, word by word, but...something like that.

Posted by BlowMyMindYup Cap Sun with strong Neptune aspects ( almost a perfect conjunct sun) I have had what you might consider chronic depression twice. It was based off low self esteem and not having much growing up. It seemed like I could never catch s break. Depression is the worse disease. It robs you of your life. That strong Neptune does make me avoid tough things and put them on the back burner. I hate Neptune being so tight with my Sun.
It must be a 'water thing.'
But yes.. When I was younger I had an issue with dwelling in the past & brooding over certain memories. Water signs (also Capricorns) usually suffer from this. They let pessimism and negativity defeat them.
Life becomes a burden when you're affected by every little word or action. Its more of a curse than a blessing. Notice how Water signs usually act defensive or on guard in order to protect themselves..?
Scorpios have a lethal weapon. Cancers have claws. Pisces have that avoidant mechanism. They 'swim away' ( bescape )
Everyone - I'm absolutely not considering medication, it's like cheating on yourself to me.
And I know people of all signs who suffer from depression / mental issues. Mostly Sags and Virgos, the most depressed person I know is a Sag with Leo moon actually. My Aries mom too, but I bet it's her Cancer rising.

My mom had it too Virgo. I feel like Virgo is just as likely as Cap for that if not anxiety. I think my Dad had it too when I wasn't around him (Cap). He turned to drugs and such and ruined his life.
I beat my depression but I am still susceptible almost everyone gets depression in their life. How bad a depression idk.
Actually my sleep,diet, and breathing techniques is what I had to change. My cortisol levels were too high from bad carbs ( they were my escape-- eating gave me the instant gratification I needed in other areas and no I didn't get fat).
More breathing through my nose was needed.
I feel you this medicine Mood Sync did wonders for me. It has lot's of vitamins and amino acids. Also works with your melatonin ( mood and sleep).

I really dont want to remember certain memories but those were the worst years of my life.
It was too painful and everyday felt like a struggle for survival.

It even cost me a really good internship :/ ( I worked at a Statehouse and there were way too many people there). I would literally go in the bathroom so I wouldn't have to have conversations. I felt like I wasn't interesting enough plus I wasn't passionate about much so I couldn't really talk about everything.
Posted by BlowMyMindYes that's totally me.
Your Ascendant sign is in Scorpio, right? @RiseAfterAll?
I think we have a habit of becoming too introspective. I analyze everything down to its core.. I need to break things down to fully understand whats going on. It never ends and I do this with everything and everyone. I'm constantly questioning.
Also Pisces are very hard on themselves. Your sign is highly sensitive. You absorb everything.. You cant help it.
I even try to analyze what my subconscious might be telling me, diving too deep. Like a perfectionist.
And I personally think my moon in Cap adds the cherry on the top of the inner conflict perfectly. Lol

Posted by risesafterallActually wait no. I wanted to say it made us similar I mean it kinda does but hear obviously Cap is a horrible moon. It restricts your emotions( more than Cap Sun would. You are a Pisces arguably the most emotional sign. You can't have such a tough moon and be OK. You can overcome any placement but that is tough. I was in relationship(kinda),w a Pisces Sun Cap Moon Aquarius Mars and Venus. The moon definitely got to her. She had really love self esteem but nice bubbly spirit and a fantastic singer (Pisces).Posted by frostey91Everything you wrote sounds so familiar, did / do you overthink too much which gives the feeling of never having a break?Posted by BlowMyMindYup Cap Sun with strong Neptune aspects ( almost a perfect conjunct sun) I have had what you might consider chronic depression twice. Virgo moon makes me over think. I also have a Strong ( super strong Scorpio in Pluto sextiling my moon). You throw in a first house stellenium and I critique myself a lot.
Now that I age it's all for the better. I kinda know how not to hit those lows. There is a never ending struggle with limitations of self being a Cap Sun and dominant with Sag Mercury and Asc. It's a bipolar combo from the standpoint of limitations Jupiter vs. Saturn.
As I age the two have blended. Capricorn dominated my home life for the majority of my life. I used to only be happy not at home.
My mom has an Aires moon which is a horrible placement obviously. She had anger problems and was dictatorial. She had obvious anxiety from Virgo energy and she is a neat freak. I will say my mom ha

"Like a perfectionist" .. So you have Virgo Midheaven?
You dont seem like a Leo Midheaven, The ones I know have a dramatic flair which colors their personality.. You seem pretty composed and introverted
@OP
Don't forget that cap gets better with time - it will get better and you will get stronger. Saturn is going to see to that, I'm convinced.

Posted by risesafterallYes Info feel misunderstood people don't know when to take me serious and when not. That's a huge issue. People also haven't appreciated my help in the past and can't see when I am being genuine.

Again don't want to bring up my past too much.
Me being misunderstood Astrologically comes from Neptune being close to my Sun with so many other planets. Pisces in 3rd house and a good ol Moon Square Mercury.
Neptune conjunct Sun and Moon square Mercury are probably my two biggest downfalls. Not to mention Cap energy everywhere amd Retrograde Jupiter (makes people late bloomers).

Come to think of it. maybe check D-vitamine levels and the Glandula Thyroidea(don't know the English word, sorry.) A friend of mine did and as a result she got a lot better. She was not diagnosed with chronical depression, but she suspected she had it. Who knows?
Posted by narayanaThis. I believe problems are to be solved, not to be repressed.Posted by risesafterallDon't do medication unless you're struggling with strong panic attacks. Medication just stops neurons from passing signals, therefore you can't experience sadness/anxiety, but you're not happy either. It cures the consequence not the cause.

No money I was a poor college kid. This was before ACA and I had ok money.

Honestly my college provided something but I overlooked it. Not one of those things you think about as a college kid. I thought was just my personality or something idk.

I can't really tell how I get out of it because I don't know exactly, but most of all I try to find peace with the feeling or thought that's bothering me. Allowing it to be there, and not trying to focus all my energy on destroying it, but just carrying it along and giving it the attention it's asking me.
Like yesterday I felt very bad and hopeless, and I noticed that I was ignoring it for days until it got worse. What I did was completely get into that feeling (which might be a bit scary indeed). Then subjectified myself to that, went into that darkness, and shortly after that it was gone and I felt relieved.
When you experience something fully, it's easier to take control of - and resistance makes stronger after all. At least for me it's like that 😉
For example I used to panic completely when I started losing my memory.
Now when that happens, I tell myself 'this will pass, memories aren't permanently lost, and the reason why you don't remember things is because it's not what you should be focused on right now.'
It's like comforting myself. It's a bit weird, I think it's just a piece of experience.
Wow this message is messed up. It's late, I've got to sleep now.
Posted by frostey91I totally get that.

Posted by KoniuchaMercury conj Uranus, sounds interesting. Original mind?
What Mercury aspects do you have? Mercury rules the mind.
I have Mercury conjunct Uranus and think a lot. It can almost make one crazy
Mercury is my strongest planet, (closely) conjunct my sun & Jupiter in the 3rd.
Squares Pluto and Ascendant.
@OP
That NEED to solve it I definitely feel - and purposefully going into that dark place is what I do too. I'm just afraid of being there for too long - getting stuck there - and of getting totally out of control. It's not that I'm scared of it while I'm there, but before going there, so I can be hesitant to do it at times, even though I know it has helped me so far.
The memory thing you might want to check, just in case it's physical, but I think you are handling it really really well! You are strong!
Nightnight. 🙂

I've had severe depression for about 10 years now. I am 40% air(aqua sun,ven,mer,sat) 40% earth (mostly cap) and two planets in Scorpio. I think way too much and am super down on myself and isolate. When I don't the littlest things get to me, I'm a lazy perfectionist lol. 😢 kind of sucks. I don't like labels either, but when you spend most of your time in bed and barely shower, let people walk over you then it's a problem lol. I have saturn square pluto.
