I've been wondering what girls AND guys think about this in terms of women.

Body types are strange.... I'm not happy with my scale NUMBER, but my measurements and clothing sizes are good.

Depending on water weight/hormones, I am 5"3 and the scale varies between 134-140. However, I have a lot of muscle mass. I have a solid 6 pack and stay in shape. Weights, and around 30-50 miles of the bike a week (5-6 of those being running) push ups, leg lifts etc, I can leg press 350.

So I looked up my measurements and it's measurements close to 120 lbs for my height (actually mine are smaller than some) but I'm bordering on 140 some days.

Yet my measurements are 34-26-36. I have not an ounce of fat on my stomach and you can see all of my ribs, I wear a size 2/4 in pants or a size 26-27" in jeans depending on brand and a 4 in dress. XS-S in tops. When I ask people to guess my weight, they say 115-120 and think I'm lying or have a distorted body image if I say my true weight. I have a friend same height and weight and she wears 3 sizes bigger than me.

The women in my family naturally are petite with thicker/more muscular arms/legs, round facial shape, full chest, perky well endowed ass, and tiny waists. But I also keep in shape.

Can someone explain this weight thing to me yet being so small? I do NOT look my weight number. I would like some personal input from ladies.

And question for guys; would you care if a girl weighed on the scale more than she looked of she wore a size 2-6 had good measurements, and was in shape?

I do know, I actually LOOK thinner and fit into smaller clothes at close to 140 than I did at 125. Wtf?! I am so confused with body types lol. I spoof love to gain some insight!

My body fat percentage is 15% which apparently is pretty good. It's in the athletic/ideal range and I was grouped in a female swimmer category.

Sometimes it depends on body type with your family too. My friend used to be 250 lbs but only had a 32" waist. She lost A LOT weight the natural way and is 32-D-24-34

I couldn't get to that if I tried. The smallest my waist ever was, was 24" and that was when I was 18/19 before I got my hips and I weighed around 120ish. But that was when I was anorexic pretty much and didn't have more than 900 calories a day and my chest and hips were still 34/36". I just looked scary skinny for my body type. 120ish lbs but people thought I weighed 90s-105.

I don't like that my number is so high but I don't look it -sigh-. You can see pics on my profile hah

I saw this muscle pic and the girl to start weighed 120 and was kinda chubby, at 137 they showed her total hard body!

Muscle weighs more than fat. If you're as into fitness as you want us to think with this post, then that's something you should already know. You should also already know that scale weight and even BMI can be skewed because of these things, and also because it doesn't factor in details like body type or muscle density. The only measurement that really means something to a woman in that regard is her hip to waist ratio.

I'm not a man, but as someone who is attracted to women, I can honest to God tell you that the numbers on a scale or on the tags of your jeans don't mean jack crap to us. Not a damn thing. No one carries around a scale in their back pocket so that they can weigh a potential date.

What we do care about is what our eyeballs tell us, and from what I can see here and what my imagination tells me, you don't have anything to worry about. The absolute best thing you can do for your looks is to stop searching for affirmation about it and be comfortable and confident in your own skin because that is one of the sexiest things a woman will ever learn how to do.

This is very true.

It's just hard for me at times...I used to be borderline anorexic and I had a hard time with it. I used to count calories allll the time. I still do but I'm nowhere near as bad as I was. I don't eat a lot of junk and I make healthier choices when eating out. I have stomach issues so 90% of fast food or overly fried makes me sick, soda makes me bloated so I don't drink it and I'm not even huge on alcohol. I make choices like getting unsweetened tea instead if sweet, wheat bun over non, hold mayo, light sauce etc. I don't deprive myself, I make healthier choices. I have a huge sweet tooth so if I eat more than usual, I accommodate it with working out.

My grandpa hasn't helped. The biggest I ever was, was 36-29-36. I wore a size 7 and still had a flat stomach. My grandpa would tell me how fat I was and my longterm bf at the time (who told me I was great and not to lose my ass) had rocks in his head and I should lose weight to keep him.

I lost weight on my own. I am now 34-26-36 and I lost about 20 lbs but now I am back to close to what I was then (weight wise) but nowhere near in appearance and clothing size.

My bf is a very fit man and I have harder abs than he does and I barely do anything for them! I'm just horribly insecure about my thighs/arms and I'm trying to tone up more or get over my insecurity.

Body composition can trump height/weight ratio. 120lbs(let's say)of mostly fat on a tiny frame, generally appears chubbier than 130lbs of muscle on a broad-shouldered, wide-hipped build of the same height.

Measurements and weight do not always correlate either, on that note. There are no rules when it comes to these things IMO

There are, but it's on an individual basis. All these charts and other "guidelines" are generalized. If someone were to actually analyze her, you, or whoever, they would take a lot of factors into consideration to determine what's "normal" or "healthy."

It's why you see such a large range for weight on some charts when they compare height/weight. Like for my height, the healthy range is anywhere from 105 to 120.

Strange. For me it said healthy between 110-150? Lol strange.

I just have days where I feel good, and days where I feel fat. Sometimes the scale can fluctuate as much as 8 lbs due to water weight, time of day.

Then I take a crap and lose 6. Something like that lol.

I want to lose weight but I think I will never be down to a certain weight I want and I'm also toning up so it is also possible I could look thinner, wear smaller pants, but GAIN weight. Just depressing to me :/

Well...I actually struggled with one back in the day. Me never being bigger than a size 8 and my grandpa always making bad comments about my weight, cutting off my food intake when visiting, and chastising me for daring to have a 2nd helping or dessert on my vacation when I was.,..well, on vacation and also twice as active.

That could have had something to do with it. Saying things like, my bf at the time who thought I looked great wouldnt love me if I didn't shed a few lbs and I had to lose to keep him.

I tried to explain it wasnt just my number that was fat and muscle, but he was so fixated on that he didn't care.

Things like that....I'm super sensitive with. I've gotten better, but when I feel extra fat or insecure I can be guilty of dangerous/unhealthy thoughts and desperate measures.

When I was younger, granted I hadn't gotten my curves yet, I was smaller than my frame should have been because I had a strict 900 calorie a day diet, plus I worked out a lot. Very unhealthy!

Yeah, it probably did.

But fuck that. All that matters is if you're fine with how you look.

No offense to your grandpa, but some male mentality jerk isn't one you should be letting influence you. Just consider the old school, sexist mentality involved and it's pretty much a bunch of bs you should pay no mind to.

You should probably focus on why you're so worried about what others think of you.

I' m 5'3. 125-130lbs and no one believes me either. But muscles DOES weigh more than fat. Plus I have tits and
an ass..and I don't wanna lose them to make the scale say a few pounds lower!

It's not the easiest thing in the world, but believe the nice things people say and ignore the rest.
I think we tend to do the opposite, absorb the negative and brush off the positive. And that is idiotic.

Also, change the way you talk to yourself.
I got in the habit of really saying harsh things to myself, harping on what faults I could find.
Screw that! No one else is as hard on me as I am myself. So I'm working on changing that.
