Aquarius Relationship-Confused? (Long)

Hi, I'm new to the board! I am looking to try and gain some insight into Aquarius men and relationships. Any help would be appreciated.

About five months ago I started talking to an Aquarius male. I wasn't looking for anything serious due to being divorced within the last year but we seemed to hit it off instantly. We knew of each other through friends already. We had a strong chemistry and we would talk for hours on the phone. I quickly became interested in him and I knew he felt the same way about me.

After a multiple dates, we started seeing each other at night a few times a week after my daughter was asleep. We talk multiple times on the phone every day and text well.

It's been six months and the relationship has pretty much stayed the same. At Christmas, he bought me (to my surprise) jewelry which I wasn't expecting. I thought that maybe it meant he was ready to slowly move forward...possibly meet my daughter and start down the path of meeting each other's family, etc. Over six weeks have now went by since Christmas and everything is still the same. I'm afraid we are stuck in this type of relationship. I've read that Aquarius' take things extremely slow, can be distant, etc. but I don't know whether it is just going to be slow going relationship or if this relationship might not have a future. I've never dated an Aquarius (usually Sagitarrius or Pisces) so this is completely new to me.

Recently during a conversation (while joking), he said something that really hurt my feelings (usually I don't get bothered too much) and I let him know it bothered me. He played it off like I was stupid for getting my feelings hurt since he was joking which only ticked me off more. I decided to "cool off" for a few days and not talk to him. During the four days, he didn't even try to call me or contact me at all. That made me even more ticked. I ended up contacting him to let it know why it hurt my feelings and he said he didn't intend to make me feel that way. Although, he never came straight out and said "sorry." Unfortunately, during those few days of not talking it was his birthday in which I decided to just text him "Happy Birthday" to let him know that I was thinking about him. I didn't honestly feel like talking to him because it seemed as if he didn't care anyway. Well, Valentine's Day came on Sunday and he made the comment that "if my birthday didn't mean anything to you, then why should Valentine's matter to me now?" We continue to talk but haven't seen each other since before I got upset about what he said. He is acting distant and it's not the norm for us to go that long without seeing each other. I asked him straight up if he had changed his mind about us and he said no. Is this normal personality/behavior for Aquarian men? So frustrated!!! 😢

It depends. basically he said something that hurt your feelings about how deeply I have no idea, and HE is looking at it like "I was joking, why is she taking what i said in the worst possible way, is that what she thinks I am?!"

Follow it up by "Are you seriously telling me that what I said so wounded her, she couldn't be bothered with my birthday? Do I really have the patience for that kind of drama?"

So he scooted to the left and is waiting for you to cool down, but if your interactions are going to be fraught with misunderstandings that turn molehills into mountains, that's just too much drama for us to process.

It's not a knock on you, it's just a personality clash, not all mesh so well while in conflict.

I will pitch in here when possible but I can't get too detailed because I'm at work.

I do think that you're going to have to reign in your emotions if you want it to work.

I see a power struggle starting, and it's one that Leo will lose every time.

@Greywiz...I wish it was that easy. I'm surprised at my feelings for him which only made them more apparent when I didn't talk to him for four days. 😢

LOL, of any opposite pairing, this one has the most potential.

But it takes a LOT of work, mostly from the Leo.

You are the Leo and the Mom, you make plans to have this man meet your daughter. Aqua is gonna respect that it's ultimately your decision, once that's out of the way, you may see more.

I agree with @sultrykitty as I have seen successful Leo & Aqua pairings.

@OP The struggle I see or where clashes happen is usually due to miscommunication. I see it often where usually the Aqua doesn't understand how a certain comment etc can hurt their Leo partner or where the Leo doesn't understand that the Aqua really didn't mean to hurt them.

In the beginning of many relationships this can cause conflict and make both parties reevaluate whether or not it's even worth moving forward with. Usually there's such a magnetic connection that despite these ups and downs neither usually want to leave and yet they're both unsure if they should invest any more emotionally and thus begins this push pull type of reaction among the two.

Both signs are prideful so at times it might be hard to just flat out say I'm sorry. For an Aqua it could be he doesn't want to feel vulnerable and Leo doesn't want to appear weak. Ultimately it's the same thing but delivered and communicated differently. In time once you both have gotten to know the other better it's those differences that can actually create balance instead of conflict down the road.

I don't agree with you. I think as a leo you should have some self respect. But so many of us have planets in cancer and i know we seem to bend for anything?

If i was in a relationship with aqua woman it would be 50/50. Anything less i would tell her to get lost.

Best comment on here...-actually every post on here about Aqua men has the same answers with people advising other people to bend and accomadate the Aqua. Never do I here accountability for aquas behavior. No a Leo should not bend for shit. If he was a dick and hurt her feelings she should not just get over it. Tf

Well he's not laughing, it's just the way we are. I have no water placements. Although I'm primarily air (Libra).

Yes, the non-parity gets to me. And I know that there are better pairings. But leo women aren't so easy to get along with either. He likes that I'm fiesty and can be as stubborn as he is, and I love that he's got an adventurous mind and innocent spirit.

We tend to smooth out each other's rough edges. It makes for a difficult but rewarding relationship.



Edited to add: I didn't say it was a perfect pairing. Reread what I actually said. Of the opposite pairings, Leo/ Aqua have the most potential.

How much or little you choose to put up with (from either side) depends on the individuals involved.

my bf is an Aquarius and it was like jumping through hoops to get him to act right. I will be honest. I showed my ass EVERY SINGLE TIME he acted distant. I still do but just differently now! Recently I made a post about him acting distant towards me and I finally decided to act just like he's acting. IGNORE HIM. I changed the locks, cursed him out, and ignored him. He called me childish and petty blah blah blah... and after a few days he acted like he had some sense and he got the point. What I learned is he stays in his head a lot but as much as I tell him you cant do that to me he still does it. but to be fair unless you tell him exactly how you feel then it's pointless. They need communication but you cant lecture him ( my downfall) before. Tell him what's up and then ignore his ass. He will get it together if you mean something to him. He's going to go M.I.A. but you're a leo remember that!!! and he's has always told me if you let me get away with shit I will and I will look at you as soft. just saying..

I can't stand Leos romantically. Friendship wise, they are fun and vivacious. I can't stand their need for attention either. I'm a Aqua stellium and last year I met a guy that was a Leo stellium. What I realized was that as cute as he was, he was everything I couldn't stand!

the leo man must have aquarius mars, AND aries moon...... except Sam Elliot has Virgo mars. I am guessing because the virgo needs to mesh with the pisces energy that katherine Ross has. All these opposite attracts on the chart...
