Okay, so...A lot of people hate on the Leo ego or 'pride' but have you ever considered that we need our pride to protect our big hearts from getting hurt?
Whenever I've denied my self pride, I've let someone totally walk over me and put my fire out. Pride is like a little pilot light inside to protect your gold.

Does anyone else agree?

Some people just don't 'get it' cause they can't get us to do what they want when they want :p

I am watching a dear Leo friend be drug by a Scorpio ex bc he denied his personal pride and boundaries. It's sad to watch really. LEOS! Stand up for yourself. Always.

Right, pride can actually be a complex attribute for a Leo. It typically stems from our innate ability to put forth a lot of energy to make things happen. We are creatives at heart and our pride often acts as the fuel we need to push things forward. Our pride makes us aspire to do greatness things with our lives. While most people have to search for their purpose, we typically know what ours is (or at least that we are meant for greater things).

That's not to defend arrogant Leos with an unchecked egos. As you mentioned our pride can also be used as a defense mechanism. Our pride and aloof nature can protect us from falling too hard in hurtful situations.

Depends..pride in general I believe is needed, I've seen countless of friends / family behave in a way that made me thankful for having too much "pride" to lower myself to certain situations.

yes, having too much pride can be a problem, work in progress for myself, apologizing more, admitting you're wrong, not taking something personally...if your pride gets in the way of your "normal" interactions with others..then no bueno.

Rather have too much than not at all though, any day.
So true, I've been labeled as someone with "high standards" because I don't take whatever is given to me. At the same time, I'm also incredibly laid back. I figured out that being proud is fine as long as my ego isn't getting in my way and turning people off from being around me. Confidence over arrogance basically.

Same, and any time I've made special adjustments for someone they have mopped the floor with me. We really do know what is best for us.
