Do you actually know any Caps, Shaka? Have you ever tried to have a deep philosophical conversation with a Cap? How about a deep conversation period? How about asking them to explain the true basis of their views on any given topic? How about trying to have an intellectual debate in which the two of you disagree?

You would quickly find out what superficial truly is... And, yes, in this case I am probably somewhat biased (in regards to Caps), but it doesn't make it any less true (for some, mind you, or most).

Don't get me wrong, Caps are not completely lacking in depth. They do have a certain level of depth, merely a superficial depth. You try to pierce underneath it and there is nothing there. You see that the person is not a person but merely a cardboard representation of one (figuritively speaking).

Perhaps Libras merely pretend to be the cardboard representation, because it is easier (more amiable)... Or, perhaps I have just met some good ones. There are good and bad of every sign, and I do not doubt that the Caps I have known are great examples of the bad. There is no doubt in my mind that, somewhere out there, there are good ones, perhaps I will get a chance to meet them someday... 😉

Ummmm .... what they are usually refering to is emotional depth, not intellectual depth. Air signs intellectualize their feelings. Sorry to say, but Air signs are the thinkers of the zodiac. We are known for intellect, reasoning, analyzing, communication and creativity. We are the radical thinkers and idea people of the zodiac. That is our whole purpose. We are known for being shallow because we are also the masters of social grace and can small talk. We also try on new ideas, new feelings, new personalities. We are fluid.

We generally have a great understanding of MANY, MANY subjects. But not emotionally deep.

I hate to say it but we might come across as superficial sometimes because we don't want to get into the "depth" of things that others think are profound but to us aren't.

There have been a lot of times a debate has come up where a lot of the people involved are going round and round on the unimportant things and completely missing the foundation of the issues. Sometimes we sit back and just keep it going, we don't "go deep" with everyone. A lot of times things aren't as deep as people think, you can dig and turn it every which way but it comes back to the initial point. We can see it comming off the bat a lot of times.

I tend to be the go to guy for digging to the bottom of problems with a lot of my friends, so I never really got the lack of depth association with Libra as well. I'm pretty damned good at analyzing people, and the people close to me know it and come to me for advice when they need it.

So either we are deep, or everyone who confides in me on the deep stuff is an idiot. I highly doubt it is the latter.

When a debate happens, Normally Gemini and Libra will go deeper and deeper into the subject, Taurus start either supporting or opposing, Aries find fault with methods of Libra, Leo start dancing in the centre and try to pull all attention and keep commenting on things which they dont understand, scorp brings in an emotional perspective, Cappy and Virgo pick on few silly point and blow it up and start challenging, Aqua brings in a far bigger picture after observing for a while which only gem and libra understands and appreciates and others turn their attention from gem and libra and jump on poor aqua and flame them. rest others hardly ever speak.

Air
The Element of Air is attached to the Signs Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. It also rules the Third, Seventh and Eleventh Houses. It also stands to reason that a combustible Fire Signer would be ardent in the game of love. Yes, these are the sexiest Signs of the Zodiac, knowing they are the cat's meow and climbing ever higher in the name of love. To their credit, those touched by Fire are often an inspiration to others, certainly for their adherence to solid moral and religious ideals.

If there's a flip side to the Element of Fire, it can be that those who bear its will can be overly strident in getting their way. Call it bossy, even. These folks can come across rather forcefully. Selfishness and an overdeveloped ego can also be seen as part of a fiery individual's shadowy side.

Fire Signs are strong, self-assured, creative and fun. When they get too hot to touch, though, it may be a good idea to stand back!

Each element has its roll. The Air element is thought. Just like Water is emotion. No one element is better than any other. Also, people are not usually made up of only one element.

What people are failing to see is that each element has depth within their assignment and the failure to see *that* is what I object too. Air has a depth of intellectual understanding and abstract reasoning. Water has a depth of emotion and sensitivity.

Those who are putting the air element down by saying air signs have no depth are basing it purely on their own opinion not on actual fact. (as far as astrology can be fact. lol!) Air has depth just in a different way than, for example, water.

Air signs are the questioners and answer seekers. That is our role.

I agree with pretty much everything you said about earth signs. I like to mull over the heavy and deep with my earth sign friends because they bring in a lot of perspective. The air signs are the true intillects, we see the big picture, the underlying principle in everything we ponder and then expand on it from there.

Earth signs have an awesome ability to take their strong intillect and keep it under wraps in a logical, usable way. I think the two things that seperate us characteristically is a lot of times the intillect of the air earth sign is driven by personal emotion and directed towards an earthly principle. They bind their intellect to a tactile way that pushes them to excel in personal affairs.

Air signs go beyond what is tactile and usable, they want the ultimate, universal perspective on the things they ponder. I think that each could learn from the other...the air sign can break the earth sign free of the chains of necessity and the earth sign can bring the air sign into focusing more on the practical.

I don't think it is really a competitive intillect between the two, or a better/worse, in my experiences one is appreciative of the other when they can get it.

We might be more abstract in our natural intellect, but we like it that way. We aren't likely to be the ones who come up with and produce the great inventions, we provide the inillectual inspiration of those around us who do have that desire to produce so that they can keep a firm sight on the big picture.

We get caught up in the overall, and miss some of the details, they get caught up in the details and miss some of the overall.

Earth sigs are practical but they hardly are inventive in their ideas. When air signs talk about making things better by implementing certain factors, Earth people come in and say it wont work bcoz life is like that and like this, world has a way of working and there is nothing you can do about it. Ever tried to move a mountain?? Thats what I feel when I try to talk some sense to earth people.
