TANTRIC SEX is meditative, spontaneous and intimate lovemaking Through it you learn to prolong the act of making love and to channel, rather than dissipate. potent orgasmic energies moving through you, thereby raising the level of your consciousness. Tantra transports your sexuality from the plane of doing to the place of being. There is no goal in Tantric sex, only the present moment of perfect and harmonious union. Tantra teaches you to revere your sexual partner and to transform the act of sex into a sacrament of love.
Tantra teaches that lovemaking between a man and woman, when entered into with awareness, is a gateway to both sexual and spiritual ecstasy. In India, traditional Tantrikas spent many years under the guidance of a spiritual teacher and engaged in elaborate yogic rituals to purify and master the body and mind. These practices were intended to awaken the powerful psychic energies through which the adept could enter into higher states of consciousness When a disciple was deemed ready he or she partook in sexual rites with a partner.
Through the sacred act of love, they sought to merge the dual nature of their sexuality into an ecstatic union. Through this came the harmonization of their own internal masculine and feminine polarities and a realization of the blissful nature of the Self.
From my understanding ejaculation is delayed through meditation and breath work. I believe a man is not allowed to ejaculate. His control over his ejaculation is proof of spiritual advancement. A man may orgasm but not ejaculate. From my understanding tantra is basically the old Hindu sex rites, similar to pagan rites, where woman is the embodyment of Goddess and man is the embodyment of God.
Hmmm... I don't find it spiritual, perse. Not as in becoming closer to a God or Gods... But, there is a spiritual aspect within every person, and I do suppose I find or want it to be spiritual in that regard. All consuming... Expression between two people through the very essence of their beings, which is all at once physical, emotional, spiritual, and perhaps something beyond those individually (the whole) which by extension would make sex all of those things, too.

Hmmm... Interesting. Learn something new everyday. I like ejaculation. I would think men like it, too. Might take a bit of the fun out of it... Hmmm...

I knew a bit about the religious aspects of tantric sex, but was curious about what the point of tantric sex for non-Hindus would be. Or, is there? I was under the impression there were non-Hindus that practice tantric sex.
Sometime sex is just raw. (And there is nothing wrong with that.) Sometimes it is touching the divine.
I don't even find it emotional unless I allow it to be emotional. But that is the beauty of Libra. 😉
There may be a Buddhist tantric yoga as well. I am just a little itty-bitty bit more familiar with the Hindu side. I sent an email to my friend. If she gets back to me, I will let you know.
I believe, and I could be speaking out my ass here, but in tantric practice ejaculation is different than orgasm. Orgasm, I believe, is allow just not ejaculation. Men have told me you can ejaculate without orgasm and orgasm without ejaculation. Not having the equipment, I haven't tried it out myself. lol!
I believe tantric techniques are employed by people because they focus on orgasm not ejaculation and lead to longer better sex? That is my theory.
it's a matter of approach, intention, and techniques, mostly. i don't know a ton about it. it has to do with delayed gratification, which apparently leads to mindblowing, massive orgasms.
"Sometime sex is just raw. (And there is nothing wrong with that.)"
True, but even when it is raw, I find it consumingly raw.
"I don't even find it emotional unless I allow it to be emotional. But that is the beauty of Libra."
Is that very satisfying? Just curious... I like expanding my horizons. 🙂
That being said, I wasn't merely talking love. Desire / lust is an emotion, a very powerful one at that...
"you can ejaculate without orgasm"
Oh, now that would suck... But, I suppose fair is fair. Haha!
"Not having the equipment, I haven't tried it out myself. lol!"
ROFL!
"I believe tantric techniques are employed by people because they focus on orgasm not ejaculation and lead to longer better sex? That is my theory."
Hmmmm... That doesn't sound so bad. Techniques? See, that sounds kind of inhibiting to me. To me, sex shouldn't be inhibited... If a person is capable of inhibiting themselves in sex (or just merely trying), obviously (to me) they would not be ever present in the moment. I personally find that slightly contradictory. Hrmm... Interesting.
Oh, not arguing with you, just thinking out loud... You theory sounds very logical and probably correct. Thanks again! 🙂
"Oh, now that would suck... But, I suppose fair is fair. Haha!"
Not really, when the sensations your getting are much stronger than an orgasm anyway.
I experienced tantric sex by accident. It was with a virgo girl none the less, which when with a Libra guy is supposedly the most tantric combination.
It is spiritual in the sense that you become accutely more aware of yourself, your partner and the world around you. It goes from being sex to being a spiritual experience, like meditating time x1000. There is not sexual goal but to perptetualize the state of euphoria that this brings. Orgasm is not the focus but happens in the course and usually is much much stronger than in normal sex for men and women.
It has it's place, I wouldn't do it solely as good ol heated romps are necessary too lol...but I get much more satisfaction out of tantric sex than any other kind.
"mindblowing, massive orgasms"
It wasnt uncommon for my partner to convulse uncontrollably or even cry after orgasm.
I don't know. I haven't really thought of it in those terms. I DO find the secret of the female orgasm is surrender. I do not believe it is possible to orgasm without surrender .... so in that sense it is consuming.

So can I!!! Gawd that can be awkward depending on where I am when it happens, like at work - so it is not just Libras - Oh wait it mostly happens when I am thinking about being with a Libra... LOL!!! So I guess Libra has to be in there somewhere. 🙂 Damn I'm a nympho!!!

I have seriously had this exact experience with my ex and with my Libra friend in different ways during sex. The Libra friend, did drop a tear once or twice. But the world definitely stopped when we were in the throw of things. We wound up in positions and not knowing how we got there. The air was still.
Beyond mind blowing and definitely spiritual. We communicated during sex our bodies spoke to eachother in foreign languages. It was similar with my ex husband (the other Libra) - not quite that deep with other male signs. Not quite.
"Sometimes it is fun. Sometimes it is outright funny. Sometimes it is emotional. Sometimes it is boring.
I don't believe it has to be a big production of "two souls becoming one". I think that would bore me. Variety is good. "
On some level, I definitely agree. And, variety is good! It is kind of strange I suppose... Consuming sex (normal or quickie), I tend to think of that as SEX. Non-consuming sex, playful sex, fun sex, other sex (normal or quickie), I tend to think of that as another form of foreplay. I suppose I have an odd extended definition of the concept of foreplay. Anything and everything can be foreplay to me, including sex... I love foreplay. 🙂
"Alcheme, to what do we owe your current interest in tantric sex?"
Ummmm? Scorpio? Sex? Hello? 😉
I suppose there is a longer answer. I am always interested in new concepts, especially about sex. Nic mentioned something about it that peaked my interest in the original story threads. I was going to look into it. That being said, he also mentioned he didn't believe Scorps have the patience to be capable of learning it, which of course sparked my competitive "damn it, there is nothing I cannot do" drive (especially if it has to do with sex!?!?!). I rather quickly forgot about it in the fun of the stories threads. But, I saw it mentioned again (again by Nic), which sparked my interest and again my competitive "damn it, there is nothing I cannot do" drive. So, I decided to look it up and see what it was all about (and why I supposedly couldn't do it, and if it would even be worth the effort of assuring myself I can do anything, though the last part wasn't exactly necessary). But, then I became confused by the definition, and thus here I am...
LS..."I don't know. I haven't really thought of it in those terms. I DO find the secret of the female orgasm is surrender. I do not believe it is possible to orgasm without surrender .... so in that sense it is consuming."
See this is something that makes me go..hmmmm! I think I needed that. Thanks!
