Posted by Notmyrealname I think you’ve definitely got the general jist but not quite there yet, copy needs to be cleaner and you really need to think about absolutely everything in front of the camera, whether it’s necessary or sells the concept. Nothing should be out of place or not thought about if you want it to be professional quality. It’s actually quite tricky. Maybe look at other ads for inspiration.
For example the first copy is brief which is great although I’m not a big fan of your cta at end, but the others need cutting down. The photos are not professional quality it doesn’t look like you’ve edited them at all. They’re a little dark and the perspective is off. There’s this rule called the golden third that will help you frame your pics well, and draw the eye to where you want it to go, you can google it if you want to.
It’s a fun job and I think people often think you can just wing it but there is a little more to it than just taking any pic of something you want to sell and uploading it. If you went to a design meeting you’d get all kinds of arty folk asking ‘but what do the plates really say?’ ‘Who is it for ?’ ‘How does the orange garnish make you feel? 😂 I think you can definitely do it if you took a quick graphics design/photography course or maybe just studied at home. You’ve got bare bones understanding so good luck building on it! You’ll be professional quality in no time just requires a bit more thought if you want to do it for a career. 👍
Awesome advice thank you but I’m not looking for career in this area! It was just me playing around in social media and my friend noticed and asked me to do something for his food which is basically an outdoor bbq and a few food items that has been going on for a couple decades. But I’ve never thought of those questions the artsy people would ask 😂 I’m gonna look that up and that golden triangle!
