What, Exactly is a soul mate...

CAn anybody give me the full spiritual definition and tell me your take on them. any experiences?

Well when people think of soul mates they think of one other person that we're meant to be with forever & we live happily ever after. There is another view that our soul mate is our other half & when we connect with this person we finally become whole.

It's a little more complicated than that. The easiest way to explain it from the way I have learned it throughout my studies is we have many different soul mates. With some of our soul mates we'll have negative experiences. Some of our worst relationships could be with a soul mate.

You see there is an "afterlife". This world we live in is sorta like a stage. And we're actors playing a role. Like what Shakespeare said:

"All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players"

And to digress for a second. That's interesting because Francis Bacon is said to be the author of Shakespeare's work & he was also a Rosicrucian. That means he would have had access to this type of occult knowledge.

But to go back to what I was saying the world is a stage & we all play roles. We are not our bodies as many people think we are. These bodies our "costumes" that our souls wear in order to experience a physicality. You might or might have not heard the famous quote:

"We are not physical beings having a spiritual experience, but we are spiritual beings having a physical experience."

That is true. On the "other side" we plan our life. We are students & life is like a road test where we incarnate to experience. On the other side we have "soul groups". Other souls that are in our class you can say that plan to incarnate at the same time that we incarnate. We choose roles & some of those roles are romantic ones. So when you have that love at first sight feeling with someone that you know you've met in another life maybe. Or you meet someone that you just connect with & it feels like you've known them forever. You probably have.

There are no accidents & we meet the people we're supposed to me when we meet them. These people come into our lives to teach us lessons & provide growth experiences.

In life people fight to have comfort & stability. To find that one person that we can be with for the rest of our lives & settle down with. In reality life isn't about that. Life is about growth & life isn't comfortable. That doesn't mean we can't find that special someone, but every life is different. Not everyone is meant to "settle down" & not everyone is meant for marriage. T

That's why divorce rates are so bad. Marriage was meant to be more about politics & business rather than love. In the past many people married people they didn't love because they were arranged for political reasons. Divorce was basically a sin. With the freedom we have in this society people are able to divorce at will. So they do.

But to sum it up our soul mates are other souls in our soul groups who incarnate with us to help us learn from preplanned experiences on Earth.

Your high school sweetheart could be a soul mate that breaks your heart, as well as the guy you date all throughout college. Or you first husband. And you can divorce, be single, & not find your final love till you're 40.

One more thing about the view of us being half a soul. We are all full souls. You'll hear the term "Higher Self" in a lot of websites. You'll also hear the term "Holy Guardian Angel". They're the same thing. That is who we truly are in terms of "I AM" before we merge back to Source.

Our Higher Self inputs a part of its energy into a human body. The percentage varies, but it's never 100% . And our personality is a mix of who we are on a higher level & the body we incarnate to. When you mix that up you get you.

So you can incarnate into a Scorpio body or a Sagittarius body or an Aries body, etc. If you practice hard enough you'll be able to tell the thoughts & reactions of your body versus the thoughts & actions of your HS. The goal for magicians study High Magick as well as spiritual people is to merge back with their Higher Self & totally destroy the individual ego.

So in truth we aren't humans & the goal is to remember that. To become what we truly are. We're spiritual beings having a human experience. Wearing human suits you can say. Without a soul a human body would still live, but it would be ruled by just emotions & their senses. Really no wisdom.

And as far as my experiences with soul mates & souls. I've personally experienced astral projection, left my body, seen what my ethereal body looks like. It's a light body that's all white.

I've also met one of my soul mates who broke my heart. lol I think I've met another one, but I'm not too sure yet. I'm only 25 so I don't know how many I have that are incarnated at the same time I am.

Phoenix Scorp, your explanation was excellent. Pretty much identical to what I've gleaned from my study over the years.

One thing I've always remembered, which was repeated to me from several sources, is that your true soul mate, or "other half" rarely incarnates in the same life with you, but rather they remain behind to help you from the other side. They know you better than anyone else, so it makes sense that they could offer you much more help from there rather than from here.

People often mistake Kindred Spirits for their "soul mates." Kindred Spirits are people you have shared many, many lives with, as Phoenix described above. You are learning and teaching each other, and working out karmic debts from past lives. With a soul mate, neither of you would learn a thing because you're perfectly matched.

PheonixScorpio: Wow that was wonderful and very interesting. Very good explanation. I agree to your theory and I've even held it as my own before, the fact that souls are never dying unlike the physical bodie.... But it just makes me wonder... We as human beings are put here for some purpose as you said, But at the same time we are not the only "bodies." What about the animals, the insects, the mill worms and the fleas. What is their purpose. Do they too have a soul? Are we all just neutral souls destined to take the characteristics of any body and species that we happen to be be born into.

That's an interesting question. From what I learned is we're all connected to Source. Our Infinite Creator. We're all energetic aspects of Source. Our Creator creates universes, universes create galaxies, galaxies create planets, planets create life on them. That being animals & humans. The thing is galaxies are living beings. Everything is life. On a quantum level there's no difference between your hand & a table. All made from the same consciousness vibrating at different speeds.

There are different densities & some people call it dimensions.

1st density is when a planet becomes conscious of itself. People like to think of a planet as a rock that they walk on, but it's a living being. Just like the galaxy. Raw elements of fire & air begin to work on the elements of water & earth. Then the conscious awareness of their being arises. That's when evolution begins.

2nd density is when those beings become consciously aware of themselves as being separate. Then they evolve.

3rd density is when beings evolve to self-conscious awareness & that's the lowest density in which a human soul can incarnate into.

So human souls don't incarnate into animals, but animals are life. Just like a human being could essentially live without a soul incarnated into it. But it wouldn't be very wise. It will still feel fear & pain though. Just run on instinct & emotions. It wouldn't know anything passed its senses.

My educated guess, because I don't know this as fact, is that the same goes for animals. I've also read in the book Destiny of Souls that on the other side there are souls that take care of animal spirits though. I'm not really sure how that works. The knowledge I got about dimensions is from the Law of One series. Both very good reads.

There are obviously different levels of consciousness between animals. You can't compare trout to a dolphin. I don't really know the details on that though. You've motivated me to look into that a little more though.

But human souls can only incarnate into 3rd dimensional beings. A human soul cannot become a dog. Animals are life & should be respected as such, but I don't think they have a Higher Self.

An idealistic incarnation of figmentation. The last isn't a word, but it is now.

In every religion as far back as history records, We came into this world as a single being neither male nor female. Some thing tragic happens that separates the two halves. The sun is separated from the moon, Adam loses two ribs and gets two wives (Lilith and Eve). Lilith was to strong willed to stay in Paradise and her children from Adam were the first cast out into the wilderness. Eve the more obedient side was able to stay in Eden.

Off the subject now, but I'm back to it. Our soul mate is the other half of our soul that left us at the moment our bodies choose its sex. We are all conceived as a sexless beings. Only testosterone and estrogen makes the change to that being. There is just a small switch. That switch takes us away from the other side of our sexuality.

Even lesbians and homosexual have that switch it just gets a bit short circuited. We are all looking for the part of us that was taken from us. We were all just aliens growing in a hostile environment in the womb.

Many of us spend all of our lives looking for our soul mates. Few of us find them in time to rejoice in it.
Those of the chosen few that get to complete their soul bounds create a pure soul in whatever afterlife. Many spend lifetimes to find that perfection we get when our soul mate is found. Perfection comes out of Chaos every so often. Mathematics can prove that.

I speak of only what my ancestors have told me.

Whether you believe in the afterlife or resurrection or reincarnation, there is a Mathematical equation and theory that covers the soul or the energy that sustains us. Both Newton and Einstein where both obsessed with the occult. Every action causes an equal and opposite reaction. E=Mc^2 is not the theory of relativity but the equation for the Conservation of Energy.

Our bodies are the holders of the energy that sends the electrical pulses through the machine that is our bodies. There was a scientist in the late 19th century or early 20th century. He had people nearing death lay on a scale with a bed on top. He filmed the whole death process. It captured the images of mists leaving the bodies and the scales losing a measurable amount of weigh. It was consistent from body to body, the same amount of weigh at the moments of mist leaves.

The earth and everything on it has a stored (potential) and active (kinetic) energy. Kinetic energy changes with the potential energies. A lower being like a worm, plant or animal dies it gives up it energy to the next level up (the Web or Cycle of Life). Even as we pass on this body to the next a part of that energy is held back to go on to the next level around.

We as beings must look into what we truly are and not only physically, mentally and spiritually. How can we be all three things? Are we all mostly water? Water holds 5 phases in a Glass of water. There is the ice, the point where it is both Ice and water, water, the point between water and moisture in the air (steam).

Our bodies are the ice, still frozen only slightly changing on the whole. Our Mentality is the water, moving from one thing to another, flowing from place to places with little constraint. The spirit or soul is the steam that ties them all together. If left to itself the ice will turn to water the water starts to evaporate and go back to whatever it's natural state was. There is more moisture in the atmosphere then in the Seas, and more in the Seas then in the poles Frozen.

Once you can SEE that we are all the same energy in a cosmic glass of water you can feel and understand our minuscule part of the equation.

the only part of PS's description i don't like, and disagree with, is the part regarding the destruction of the individual ego. i think the individual ego is just as much a part of the everything. i don't think we should seek to destroy but to recognize it and create a harmonious balancing act.

Story that I like, to interpret soulmates idea for my own peace of mind really is very simple, it is that one from Plato's Symposium, about origins of love and the part told by Euripides I think, that a man and a woman used to be one being, connected (were called androgens, and they moved around like a wheel), but since they functioned so well together they got arrogant and wanted to overthrow the gods, which of course, upset the Olympians, so Zeus split them in two. Ever since then each has been trying to find their other half. So, theoretically humans function better when they're paired and moving along each other continually - would guess that's like soulmates. That's theoretically - why fall-in-love moments don't recognize any of that is a different problem. ... just a thought

To me, since "soulmate" is one of THE most subjective concepts (for lack of better term), out there. It is whatever means MOST to you at your deepest core and your own spiritual existence. I really don't think some other body or opinion-no matter how well-intentioned could "dicate" what a soulmate is on such a personal level OF spirituality.

Same goes for LOVE..

For me the best, most special things in life are "truely" undefinable..

Well there are many definitions. Many say everyone in our lives is in someway a soulmate. But on a romantic level it's nothing like the movies.

It's someone who intuitively knows how to make you smile and cry. That can cause sure feelings of love and emotions that both of you will feel like running the opposite way. But I guess they teach you important lesson too. That's a big part but personally I'm over lessons. I sure I have plenty of "soulmates" in my life, but the one that I've had the strongest connection with caused so much love, confusion, bliss and chaos within me that I'm not sure I would want to meant another one.

i doubt i have soul mates. im sure im something diffrent incarnated to this world to watch after others. ive always been a watcher. lol.

Soul mate is the person who you fit with perfectly.

When I was a kid I believed that men and women are perfect together because nature is a good design and wouldnt be faulty. Then when I found out it doesnt work I was taken aback as a teenager. I thought a man would sweep me off my feet and I would become the perfect housewife.

Physically its all imperfection. The only way you can make perfection is by developing your mind. Changing your mind is like changoing your shape so you as a jigsaw piece can fit with another jigsaw piece. Often peoples soul mate is more like an imaginary friend or someone unattainable . that way you can visualise the perfect fit and see them as perfect without any physical evidence to shatter the vision.

Some people meet a soul mate but its rare nowadays because men and women are made into shapes that are more selfish and troublesome. They dont have parents showing them a good successful marriage and how they got success.

The soulmate is a narcissistic desire to see yourself perfectly reflected in someone else in order to reinforce/justify your own existence and ease the pain and horror of Being.

In other words, just another dream that dissipates like smoke when you reach out to grasp it...
