I have a question for you??_ It's not that I disagree with anything your saying... but you sometimes speak as if you feel entitled to and gypped out of the "American Dream".

I mean I get that you want a descent job, home, wife ect. But you still live far better than the majority of the world??s population. You say —I will not get butt fucked by "the man"!?? but if you buy into all the hype of materialism, does that not just making you apart of the man who butt fucks the rest of the world?

It just seems like we've sold our butts to be fucked when we bought into this dream, and we keep bending over every time we try to get it. So why not fuck the dream?

Naw. I don't feel entitled to or gypped out of the "American Dream" nor do I desire a "descent" job, home, wife ect.

I want an "awesome" job, home, and wife!

Here's the thing. "American Dream" is a term that has become subjectified. What do you think when you hear it?

As it sounds to me, you're saying "decent". Which, compared to the rest of the world, sadly, is really good because so many countries are poor compared to our standards.

But if you were to ask me, American Dream = Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Mark Zuckerburg and so on...

All the people who make it big are entrepreneurs and businessmen. Both. To be CEO of something big, you fuckin' invented that shit, or you're a hell of a business+opportunist man.

The only other two categories that make major bank in the world are politicians and entertainers. However, both the politician and the entertainer are ruled by the business man and entrepreneur because they have what the people want and receive all the peoples' money. And because they have the money, they buy off the politicians and they pay the actors and the singers and song writers to make all the entertainment that screaming fans come in droves to watch.

The problem, my dear, is assumptions. Economists assume that I as a consumer want the biggest house, fanciest car, a yacht, front row tickets, and all else the world has to offer in it's great materialistic utopia of self pleasury. And in exchange for all that, I dedicate my life to a service of expanding the ever growing marketplace full of brand names and breaking edge technology.

What they don't know is that I am not worldly. I am not a player in their game. I don't have a burning desire

for all this "stuff" because it won't fit in my coffin. I won't want it once I'm dead. As a (I don't even want to say Christian because so many lousy hateful people have donned the name)... so I'll say believer in Jesus. As a believer in Jesus, in a heaven, in an after life, in souls, I feel all importance lies in your relationships with other people. Because they are all that will remain.

"The unexamined life is not worth living" - Socrates

You know why? Because if you were to imagine a life, let's say, where you never came in contact with another human being, you would not want to live. Further more, if you did out of hope of meeting someone, if you failed to, it would be as if you never existed. Because we humans are limited in our power, knowledge, thoughts. If no one knows you, you didn't happen.

Now, as a believer, I have morals. There is good and evil. People who don't even believe in God still believe in morals. they might not admit it but they acknowledge their existence more than they think. I can influence people positively (good) or negatively (evil). And I say all this to say...

If you continue to feed the societal view that wealth is success and to have much is to be better off, you are a negative influence. And therefore, you preach an evil doctrine. This is not to say, it is evil to have nice things. As a Leo, I myself admire the glamorous, the ornate, the exotic, but it is not that I value expensive things, it's that I value quality, beauty, and creativity. Anything in this world, however, that holds those three values, however, are most likely expensive.

And although these three are very pleasing to the eye in a physical sense, they are even more so in a spiritual one, if the viewer is a wise and righteous being.

I don't want a lot of things. But of the things I have, may they be physical or spiritual, I want the best.

The problem is, most people don't think like me, they are merely caught in the paper chase.

Which is why I would put myself in a fifth category. "The discontent".

As the discontent, I don't want to be a part of this society as this society wants me to be. However, due to my limits as a human being, I find it hard to escape. Firstly, for the reason that removing myself from people completely and utterly destroys my reason for existing in influencing others positively.

Secondly, on a personal level, the concept that success is a decent job, wife, and home which is attained through a poorly

constructed educational system is in my parents heads. And them being as conservative as they are, I just know I'd break my mother's heart if I told her I didn't want to go to college and lived in a little trailer house. I don't want a classic education because I know from observations those who really "make it big" didn't get one or use it for that matter. And being the person I am it's go big or go home. It's just hard to do when you don't have one to go back to.

My prison isn't so much the system as it is the emotional pressure put on me by my parents to do it the way they envisioned with the money that they worked hard for to give me that opportunity.

I know you didn't hide that message because of Tate?

No. Not because of Tate. Because I was in a goofy mood when I wrote it and it takes away from my more serious response to Robyn808. As for the other two, I don't know if they read my response to her entirely and actually comprehended or merely skimmed. If so, they are disregarding everything I said because... well, I honestly don't know. They never objected to any specific part of it.

Apple is just another system, its own empire that disenfranchises some people for the profit and benefit of others.

How can you aspire to be what you rage against?
If you can't free your mind from these ideals then you will always be a slave to the system.

Educate yourself on how we really make all this possible. How we've built our infrastructure, what we do to gain resources, and power and dominance around the world. Learn about what's has been done, to make it possible for you to believe you deserve to be one of the few.

I'm not even gonna comment on your list of roll models. But come on seriously? Think it through!

Whoa. I never said I wanted to be them. Or even that they were "role models". I was simply listing recognizable figures in the business/entrepreneurial category. I don't want to be that at all. And I don't believe those to be "ideals". Everything I said was just how it is.

I believe that money is what ruins the arts, which is what is really important, but is a necessary evil for technological advancement. Which is not a necessity although people see it as one.

For example, the shit on the radio. Money ruining the art of music. I shouldn't even have to go into that... smh.

"necessary evil for technological advancement"

NO! its not. We just don't now any different, because its the way its always been.

Money has nothing to do with true artistic expression. I believe once its tainted, then it should no longer be categorized as such. The difference is pretty easy for me to recognize. But true artistic talent has always been given to a select few. We are bombarded with images of entertainment which is really all marketing and intended to sell something.

But art is selling sells an idea or an emotion, without monetary value, and I think it should only ask that you feel it.

I agree with you completely.

But ask yourself. How would we come about the technology we have now without money?

I want to believe that there would be a way to come about the technological advancement we have today without research being driven by millions of dollars. But how? I'm asking you. Would we have computer engineers in a cashless society? Maybe. But would it not have taken immensely longer to reach where we are today?
