Here's my thing though...

From a spiritual standpoint, I believe the bible & my God when he says that NO ONE will know the day or the hour when the Lord comes back & when the earth shall be in ruins. To dispute this theory would be the same as believing that my God is a liar & that's something I refuse to let enter my mind or leave my mouth!

HOWEVER, from a scientific standpoint, I don't think acknowledging that certain scientific evidence seems to be true/accurate is the same as doubting your own Christian/faith.

Idk, I'm torn.

On 1 hand, hey if they've got all this evidence that something will happen, I can't dispute that b/c science is science. But on the other hand, all of these ancient groups have been wrong countless times before! The world was supposed to end like 3,000 times already!

Mayans never said the world was going to end on that day ... why the fuck people say that is beyond me .... I think the Christians started it because thier minds are blocked.

Well then you obviously haven't done your research or homework.

The Mayan documents that they have left clearly spell out when they consider the world to be ending. And 2012 is the end of the 5th cycle, which in modern day terms is 2012.

So whether or not the world ends in December, May or hell even January is really besides the fact. It's the fact that the world is "supposed" to be ending in a year from now that is the main focal point of the story.

Btw, Christians actually have been denouncing the Myan theory for decades. There are dozens of other religions that have completely different views that also believe in the Mayan Calendar.

You haven't done your homework ethier krys...the mayans do not say that the world is going to end in dec 21, 2012, the mayan calendar will end in dec 21, 2012...the world will CHANGE, but it won't end.

The calendar ends .... nowhere in or on that calendar does it say (because it doesn't have vocal chords or a mouth) nowhere is it written, carved in stone, or drawn with glyphs ... that the world is going to end.

The calendar ends .... if people believe that the ending of this equates to the world ending, then it's the people who are saying this and not the calendar.

LOL! Honey, the Mayans predicted that there will be a major solar eclipse in Dec. 2012, in which they predicted will have dior consequences on Earth. Science 101 tells us that if this planet gets any closer to the sun, we're all done for. It's impossible for what they predicted to happen, actually happen & yet we all still be alive the next morning. Smh

@Femininity: I agree.

I don't necessarily agree that the world will end in 2012 or even that something catastrophic will even happen. However, I'm not closed-minded to research or predictions that such an event will take place either.

Even the most seasoned scientists agree that they can't even predict when earthquakes will happen. With all the technology/brains/science we have now, if we can't even predict when something INSIDE the earth will happen, it's even harder to believe that we're advanced enough to predict when something in space will happen.

The things happening now (earthquakes, Tsunamis, floods, fires, global warming, etc.) have always happened. People have always been obsessed with any theories that involve the world ending, especially now. So I'm not surprised that people are training their minds to believe that the things happening now must be somehow related to the end of times.

In fact, there have been WORSE natural disasters in the past. There have been total extinctions before. So if anything, people back in those days & when THOSE disasters were happening had more reason to believe that their days were numbered moreso than they do now
