Guns are generally more effective for self-defense due to their range and stopping power. Swords and blades are useful in close quarters where firearms are less practical. The choice depends on the situation, but for most modern self-defense scenarios, guns are considered more reliable and effective.

the most effective weapon is your body. now to the question: I'll go with swords even tho I almost had my thumb chopped off some years back by one. the type I prefer: katana. but I still go for knives even over swords (hunting ones are my favorites).
