Mental, of course 🙂

Having ideas really gives me a rush.

Yesterday I went to bed around 4 and didn't get any sleep until 7 because an idea for a new movie I plan on writing just wouldn't leave me be.

Today, I sat at the computer and punched out 4 pages (4 minutes of film). 4 pages! And the movie hasn't even begun!

The resulting movie will be titled "Retrospect". And my goodness if I pull this one off on the emotional and intellectual side of things... well... I shudder to think about what would happen lol

I'm looking to enter it into a screenplay competition, actually. Last submissions are on the 1st of March.

Bluecat competition. They've got a $ 2,500 prize for British submissions, so I'm gonna try and get my mits on that.

Anyone know any writers? Anybody who's entered competitions? Won, perhaps? Would love to hear some stories.

Inspiration is like a mental viagra. Ah, love it, I f**king LOVE IT!

haha I knew you weren't going to be writing anything nasty 😛

But I write a lot! My writing is a little different than yours, however...it's more novels and short stories and journal/essay writing (and the journal writing I don't mean as diary writing lol). Though lately I have had some serious writer's block...What do you do about that, if you ever get it?? Writing is such an outlet for me so it sucks when this happens! And good luck to you if you do enter the competition. That would be awesome to win it!

Thanks, feisty.

Writer's block is the devil. I think to beat it you have to cultivate an interest in things you wouldn't normally be interested in, since you never really know where inspiration is going to come from.

And I have so much respect for you, Feist. I've tried and failed with novels lol. Not good at telling things and describing emotions, me. Now SHOWING them, that's easy, since you just basically let people come to their own conclusions about your characters.

And I f**king hate spending time on character description lol

You should check out screenwriting, you know. It's so much easier. I swear I finshed a 90 page script in under a month?

This'll be my 2nd and I've got two or three more ideas in the works (You have to have more than one screenplay when approaching agents, apparently)

With screenplays the ideas come quicker for some reason. I guess it's because you spend little energy on describing action and environments and more on your dialogue.

Good luck with the writer's block, by the way. I feel your pain.
