Kids who suck their thumbs = smokers?

Do kids who suck their thumbs grow up to become smokers? Just curious. This is about off the wall as they come for me.

Seems like a basic oral fixation situation. Thought it might be worth a discussion.

Eh, no.

Kids who hate their parents tend to do rebellious things like smoking, drinking and having sex at an early age.

Kids who have a good relationship with their families tend to abstain from that kind of thing until later in life, and even then, they usually don't maintain it forever.

I sucked my thumb when I was little and I smoke now. Always chewing on something, too.

Same I think your onto something with this oral fixation lol. I like putting things in my mouth... mmm that sounds a bit sus.

Some jackass was on the news this morning talking about how our smiles in childhood photos indicate the likelihood of whether or not they will be happily married in life.

Some assholes will do anything to try to sell a book, online article or whatnot.

I've read that the worse the economy is, the worse the scam artists are.

In this sordid day and age, I am surprised President Sham Wow isn't trying to tell us that our healthcare futures are dependent on what political affiliation we maintain. Oh, wait. That's already happening.

I played with Transformers when I was a kid.

By the logic from these morons, I should be an electrical engineer or robotics expert as a result.

Oral fixation isn't junk science. It's basic Psychology 101.

And I had/have a great relationship with my parents as well. I didn't start smoking until after I graduated college. Didn't start drinking until I was in college.

I was thumb sucker that became a smoker. But I was also able to quit.

It had goats sewn on it. 😛

I was just talking about this!!! I had mine for a while too - smelt like happiness and rainbows. Aside from smoking I'd mutilate straws and bite fingernails 😛 terrrrible!

The sordid, stupid and feckless assholes have overtaken us decent, thoughtful and responsible people by a ratio of 10:1 these days.

It is subsequently difficult for me, as a decent person, to "lighten up" about anything anymore.

But for you, I will try.

I wasn't ever a hardcore thumb sucker but I did have a dummy for a ridiculously long time...till I was 10 at nighttime >_< I am now a heavy smoker and generally have major oral fixation. If I can't smoke I eat, drink, lip balm compulsively or chew my lip. My brother had a dummy till about the same age and never smoked...

Now that you mentioned the crunch sound scorched, YES! I think that weirded me out the most lol. How's this for a visual if people are keen on getting one. There's a FAT hollow needle that goes through first , the actual piercing itself is inside this fat needle 😄
