Can't believe* you said that with a LOL.

my friend was telling me a story about this lady (an elderly lady) who sent her son a message saying "Your grandma passed away. Talk to you later. LOL". The son was confused & replied "But ma, what's so funny about that?" Long story short, the old lady thought "lol" means, Lots Of Love & she was like "Oh my goodness, I need to call the other people I sent messages to & explain the "lol". They must think I'm a horrible person".

That made me laugh because most older people don't understand most of the slangs spoken today, yet it doesn't stop them from using them & they get it twisted with something else all the time. My aunt is like that too, she's trying to be hip lol.

Lol

My mom makes up her own acronyms and expects everyone to understand what she means. It's funny because I usually do know exactly what she means. For example,

JAS - just arrived safe

LTA - Love to all

OLTA - (this one I had to ask the meaning and she incredulously told me OUR love to all! Duh! )

Lmao smh

I just didn't post anything for about two days coz I was out reviewing for the finals. And the finals had just gotten over few hours ago! At last, I can DXP now!

Ands! Here's the typhoon path of Typhoon Haiyan (Typhoon Yolanda in PH):

The purple line is the path of typhoon. The hardest hit is Tacloban (in orange). The first landfall is in Guiuan, Eastern Samar. That first point the purple line first crosses is Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

I live in Daraga, Albay. It's quite close to the path of typhoon as can be seen in this map. Manila, not as much.
