My mother-in-law is a 16 year old stuck in a 64 year old's body who seems to constantly take revenge on me for stealing her son as if he's her property and I'm some side hoe. I ignore her and my maturity pisses her off even more. True story.

Lol, that’s a common theme played out in family dynamics I feel like. She probably has deeply seated issues with realization of her offspring growing up and leaving the nest. Mine is very similar in her actions about my brother.click to expand

I can't wait for someone to explain how revenge "works". Like, how do you know when you've been successful?

I can't remember anything big, only petty stuff like pranks.
I've never regretted it but at the same time I can say revenge in itself didn't mean much.
It's a nice feeling for a while, but then it's "ok best to just sort what actually needs sorting now. Didn't actually achieve anything here."

yeah mine always ends up like ~~ I will have my revenge! ~~ and elaborate plots in my head... but nothing comes out of it, only pranks as you said.
There's always a good reason why I can't exact my revenge; looking back it's a positive intervention from somewhere, who knows where
