Hi Morganofmind,

Something sentimental huh.

One thing I have done in the past when I was stumped for a solution was to make them a single or double decker heart cake myself (decorate any way you want) (thats the sentimental item) gets them every time cause you made it for them. Then I would get something they would like or could use depending on what their interests are. This makes the gift part a little easier to pick out, having the cake as backup I mean. Lets face it guys are not that easy to buy for in my opinion.

For my boyfriend one year I set up a table (like a nightstand) in my bedroom with red and white material and a ligt rose lace cover just on the top part of it. I put the cake I made in the middle with his card behind and lit three candles around it all. His gift was in front of it all wrapped up nice. It just took a minute and he got tears in his eyes because of what I had done for him to make him feel special.

I dont know what the situation is for you and the guy you are talking about. But what I did surely would be a hit for anyone. I used material and lace from the a thrift store, and the candles cost about three dollars. The candle holders were red glass and they were .50 cents ea. His gift was what cost me a bit, but the presentation was priceless.

Anyway hope this helped.

I agree phoenix,

They do seem to be alot harder to buy for in my opinion. Most of the stuff you see seems to be geared for females dont you think? You know just to feminine to give a guy.

We should have asked the guys on the board what kinds of things they would like to get on that day. I bet we could have gotten some good ideas from them. Or at least an idea of what kinds of things men would appreciate getting.

Hey....

How'd you guys claim that you love your lovers "without knowing what he likes".??

Just kiddin?!!

Find out what he do as a hobby and get the gift accordingly?

- If he is tech-head, then "hi-tech" gadgets would be appreciated.
- Fishing or hunting stuff..??
- Colognes..??
- A pre-paid check as a gift in his favourite store to buy tings that he likes..??
- A year subscription for his favourite magazine or online gaming stuff like that..!!

How about a passionate kiss..??

Come' on ladies.. its not that difficult?!!

I have to agree they have made it all to comercialised. It kind of takes away from the reason it was created in the first place.

It seems most everything winds up being reduced to how much profit can be brought in for sales during any celebrated event or day. Kind of takes away from the true meaning of it all sometimes.

I mean havent you noticed that every year the stores are gearing up for one holiday event, before the one right before it has even occured. Like Christmas stuff is put out before Thanksgiving has even happened. It seems to get worse every year, so much that the holidays seem to be blending into another dont you think. Come to think of it this year I was seeing Christmas stuff in October before Halloween! Its getting pretty bad in my opinion, but it is just that "my opinion".

And like they say "opinions are like a-- holes, everyone has one!lol!
