First decan of Cancer will be ruled by Cancer(moon), I don't see the connection to Mercury and 11th house. I am sure there is an evident answer which I've missed lol

Yeah, I think decans are valid for all planets and could be significant for the personal planets moreso than the slower-moving planets. In my example about planets sharing energy between 2 of 3 factors (sign, decan, house), for my first decan moon and Mercury the decan shares energy with the sign.

I agree that especially in the case of my 4th house moon, my Sagittarian moon feels Cancerian (one might argue I'm confusing this energy with my Mercury). People who don't believe that house placements work this way would argue that I am Sagittarius moon, and this energy is directed toward family and home development, versus having Cancerian characteristics. I wouldn't relate to that interpretation at all

It's amazing, I understand. Cancer is the natural sign of the fourth house, and moon being placed in the 4th, gains much of cancerian traits as you mention, despite your fourth house being in the sign of Sagittarius. I think it's also because Moon rules the sign of Cancer, that you feel your moon having much of these traits.

There are so many layers to planetary placements. It's beautiful.

Sagittarius decan 3 is ruled by Saturn and the Sun (Leo Triplicity). The Decans (mine is Aquarius while my Moon and Sun is Pisces) are said to be more applicable to the Ascending/Rising Sign (1st house cusp) than any of the other 11 houses but when you study yourself, you will see that you actually do take on the energy of the planet that reflects the degree of a particular house cusp. (See chart below) This has been my experience when studying the patterns of thousands of charts I have written.

Yes, there are a couple of points I experienced basically the way they are described here.

I'm often told by people that they think I would make a great professor or teacher for example.

Personally I have doubts on that but sometimes others see something in you that you are unaware of.

I find decans are important too.

Moon sign is in scorpio, 2nd decan. So I've got Neptune as co-ruler.
