You know those lyrics. The ones that make you go....WTF?

"Boy, you've been a naughty girl, you let your knickers down." ~ I am the Walrus, The Beatles (Most of their lyrics from this period could be attributed to LSD, but still...)
"We can dance. We can dance. Everybody look at your hands." ~ The Safety Dance, Men Without Hats
Why must we look at our hands? Is this part of the dance?
And, one of my personal favorites:
"Let me take your hands, I'm shaking like milk." ~ Let's Go to Bed, The Cure
Methyl, Planet Telex is definitely a head-scratcher. How about "Fitter, Happier" from OK Computer? There's not even any music in that, so I don't know if it can be called a song. It's always been the only track I ever skip on that one.
How about some Doors, "Back Door Man"?
"You men eat your dinner, eat your pork and beans I eat more chicken, than any man ever seen, yeah, yeah"
Mmmmkay. This song is obviously about rear entry, but I have never understood how this part fits. Is there something I'm missing here?
"The End" is one of my favorite songs and all of it is a bit of a trip, but this part in particular:
"The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on. He took a face from the ancient gallery And he walked on down the hall"
"The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on. He took a face from the ancient gallery And he walked on down the hall"
i'm actually pretty sure i understand this. hahahahah never heard the song before, but i'm pretty sure that he has like masks on his wall so it's like a gallery, and he just takes one and keeps walkin'
i LOVE radiohead, Tom Yorke's a musical genius, but i have to agree, most of the time it's, hmmm, come again?? ..but wow, beautiful music just the same. i think radiohead is alot like ABSTRACT art, it is whatever "you" think it is..LOL =)
I love Radiohead, too, Mystic. They're one of my favorite bands. I can't get enough of "In Rainbows" and I've been listening to it a lot since it first came out.
They did take a turn to the abstract, but "Pablo Honey" and "The Bends" did include some pretty straight-forward lyics. And they still use that approach, occasionally.
How about this one - More Beatles..."Happiness is a Warm Gun"
"The man in the crowd with the multicolored mirrors On his hobnail boots Lying with his eyes while his hands are busy Working overtime A soap impression of his wife which he ate And donated to the National Trust"
Why does he have multicolored mirrors on his boots? What is a hobnail? And the last two lines...did he eat the soap or his wife and how did he donate it afterwards?
a.) snaggleteeth aren't cute on people b.) she makes me want to puncture my eardrums c.) everything else about her is also obnoxious
and sea siren...i can honestly say i have no fucking clue what those lyrics mean. hahah...i'm sure it would seem clearer if we were on a gooooood LSD trip.
Yum, are you insinuating that Jim Morrison was bi? I thought of this interpretation, too, but "the men don't know, but the little girls understand" line seems to contradict this theory.
