Irreplaceable Voices in Music

Whose voice(s) do you think is so distinct that it is unparalleled in music (their voice doesn't nec. have to be good, in fact some of the most grating voices have the greatest capacity for conveying feeling).

I would also have to agree with Tom Waits, a few others who can convey a lot with their voice alone is Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blonde (really powerful voice), Stevie Wonder, John Fogerty (Credence Clearwater Revival), Leonard Cohen, Alison Krause, Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins), Antonio Carlos Jobim, Nina Simone, Edith Piaf, Loredana Berte (she's either loved or hated by Italians b/c she is so out there, but I think she's absolutely brilliant) and Sezen Aksu (she's called 'little sparrow' in Turkey).
