he makes good music, i can't front on that, but he was also a CO (correctional officer)..now i didn't really even have an issue with that, my issue was once he was confronted about his past,he flat out lied about it...lost all types of respect after that..especially since his most of his music consist of talking about hustling and living a hustlers life style

2. PLIES (cancer)

made good, heart felt, real street oriented music..but come to find out this guy wasn't living that life style at all..he's a college student (which is good), and he talks proper( which is fine too)..but when you listen to'em, he purposely tries to sound as ignorant as he can be, and he never mentions anything about doing good in school or anything similar to that..if you want to be considered "the realest" you gotta talk about your "real life" to imo

3.DR.DRE (Aquarius)

talked all that super tuff gangsta talk while he was with N.W.A, but before that he was in some wack ass group called "the world class wrecking crew" and dressed like a transsexual..beat up a female reporter, claimed that he didn't smoke weed, then named his album "the chronic", got punched up at an award show and didn't do nothing,etc..

and i know most of these rappers that talk hard is usually frauds..but these 3 is the worst out of all of'em imo

I stopped caring about a rappers personal life a long time ago. I don't even know the real names of either rapper you listed and I never felt obligated to find out. It it obvious that these are three excellent storytellers who can act, basic traits any successful entertainer must have. Knowing if a rappers persona is real or not is growing more irrelevant now that everything in hip hop is about getting money instead of "keepin it real"...sad world we live in huh

As far as rick ross goes just because he was a correctional officer does not mean he was not selling drugs, no one knows for sure. There are crooked cops and C.O.'s. Drugs get into jail and out of them, and a majority of drug operations are run by gangs. Gangs are ruled from the penitentiary, i dont know dude personally so i can not say whether he is fake or real. But ill tell you this i do enjoy his music, rap has evolved to the point where the lyrical content and credibility are no longer a prerequisite to having a loyal fan base. I respect what he does and dont expect him to be nas or jay z.
