Do you think humans are polygamous by nature? Why? If not or if so

I don't think so. At least not today. Why?

It could be a late night sleep deprived reach..but worth a shot.

Comparing the primordial days to modern times, I think women have shaped the family unit. So like bearing children and the whole nine is great, but it's also lots of work. Perhaps then, women began to search for mates more likely to be involved in raising and care taking, to better the chances of the offspring's survival. It probably became the norm. I can't think of a better way to gradually get the other adapted to this kind of operative familial unit, other than the instinctive need to continue life-or make it easier to do so.

Now we've evolved on many different levels, and whether love is a social construct or not, I think today, both men and women have inevitably made finding "the one" we've learned about in all the greatest movies a priority.

So now you have the minds of men sold on the *idea* of love (thanks to modern day societal influence), and (perhaps) the learned behavior of monogamy to assure (or simplify) the continuation of life.

But then there's the question of that yearning for another even in committed relationships, most fall victim to. Like is it some primal urge embedded within us to constantly search for new partners?

I think the reasoning for that manifests more so in psychological constraints rather than like...biotic or evolutionary influence.. cause not everyone strays.

Idk ha

But my opinion, no lol

disagree. Instead of polygamous, I believe humans aren't meant for institutionalised commitment. It has always been a business transaction but over time, it has been perverted into a medium of commitment for love. Marriages were never meant for love.
"been perverted into a medium of commitment for love"

You have an interesting view of perversion. I think it is the other way around. Marriage being a business contract, having to fuck someone you don't love for offspring and having affairs with ones you might love or lust for, or not being allowed to do as such while the other one can and does, is a pretty horrible way to live.
