What is Marilyn Manson's message?

You have him in your profile, and I know a lot of other people who adore him because of the message he sends out to the world. And I did a search on him to try and find out why he's able to catch people's attention with this message .... and I don't understand it.

What am I missing? What is it he's trying to convey?

i think many of the messages behind Manson's songs/lyrics hint on sarcasm and cynicism in a rather 'desensitized' society. He bascially wants to "wake" people up, make them think (on their own) and inspire them to be ONLY who they "truly" are, as he also honors & prides himself and listens to his own highly unique (inner) voice, ideals, visions, aims, future goals, etc. etc. He believes in a world which needs "faith, hope & honesty" ..but not necessarily religion. He also speaks for the ills, abused, or misunderstood of society. He seems to intuitively know and has a knack for what society or the media may be really saying behind subtle & not so subtle facades, playing on them expressively and creatively, if you listen closely to many of his lyrics. He really doesn't care what "they, the establishment" think in the end, but loves his family, friends and fans, because that's all that matters. He loves his extreme life style , and his own highly unique form of creative self-expression & imagery, never feeling the need to apologize.. He's only being who "he" is, and is actually a genius storyteller/songwriter and amazingly awesome stage entertainer! =) He would be the first to say, don't try to be like me, just be "you". btw, MM is also quite a talented, successful painter and writer in his spare time, too.

It's true though, anything can misinterpreted, (by the impressionable) and he can't be everyone's parent either. Like he says, he's an artist who only wants to "push" a few buttons and inspire people to "question."

i'm not a big fan of O'Reilly's, but i thought Marilyn held himself very* well here, and you can glean quite ALOT from the 'man' himself. Manson/O'Reilly Factor Interview:

Yup, he mocks the hypocrisy of society. The persona that we all outwardly show and what's really going on inside and behind close doors.

I guess he is one of the few who is able to break free from the Saturnian mold that chains these Caps.

I agree. This really impressed me:
In the controversial documentary Bowling for Columbine, Michael Moore interviewed Marilyn Manson about the tragedy. When asked what he would say to the two if he had a chance to talk to them before the killings, Manson replied "I wouldn't say a single word to them; I would listen to what they have to say, and that's what no one did"

P, his book, "Long Hard Road Out of Hell" is a very interesting read. He is a very intelligent man.

I really enjoy him as well...the book was an amazing read. It really gives you insight into the cultivation of his mind....

I watched the interviews (and a few others that were available on youtube) ... and I'm really astounded at how well spoken and intelligent he is. I never saw that coming .. so much for judging a book by its cover.

The whole fucking point of his existence.

He is a White Wind in Mayan astrology and they are our messengers, so it's not surprising that he would be driven to bring awareness to people.

In the interview with O'Rielly ... Marilyn said very similar things as Charles does/did in his few interviews over the years.

I find this fascinating .. at first, I just thought this name of Manson was plucked out of the air, but, I know Charlie well .. and his message was the same. Charlie, however, isn't very bright and he's unable to convey in words what he's trying to say ... they are important, and should be listened to.

I wonder if Marilyn did ... when listening to Charlie, it's hard get past his wild and eccentric persona .. and people think he's crazy .. but, he's NOT ... if he's listened to, really listening to what he's saying, the meaning of his words .... it becomes clear that Charlie knew 30 years ago, what we are just beginning to comprehend about being enlightened.

But, because we didn't know that (the power of our personal energy) ... we determined he was crazy because he said he was god, we are all god because we all have the power of the christ in us to make our lives.

That ^^^ was Charles Manson message .. that we all missed because we listened to the media, which instilled our fear.


Anyway ... I just wanted to point out that Marilyn and Charlie are very similar, one is just very well spoken, while the other is illiterate .. but, the message is the same.
