Pisces Mercury

Information is processed through emotions, but in a completely non-personal way. When Mercury is in the other waters signs, Scorpio and Cancer, thoughts are processed with emotions that relate to how the person feels personally. Mercury in Pisces people leave themselves out of the equation and simply feel the thoughts as though they are floating in an unconscious state of flux. Thoughts come through them and are felt abstractly in a way that is foreign even to them. Don't ask them to rush through their thinking. They need time to let it run its course. A thought may feel bad or good, but they can't tell you why. An idea may seem right or wrong, but they don't have a reason. It's just feelings.


Mercury in Pisces people let their thoughts simmer. They aren't in any rush. The world is an experience not a race. Tell them a story and watch their eyes go into a hypnotic state. You wonder if they are listening to you. They are, but not in the same way any other sign listens. Pictures and feelings are floating through their mind as your story unfolds. They aren't judging, calculating or verifying, only feeling and experiencing your story as you tell it. In the end, after they go through the experience of your story, their eyes will come back into focus and they will offer feedback that enlightens you and makes you understand your own story better than you did before you told them about it! Their insight is astounding because they see everything at once as though they are always in a dream. They don't compartmentalize or dissect or analyze, they just take things in and feel them as a whole.

Of course, when they are the ones telling a story or explaining something this dynamic has its issues. They aren't the most organized thinkers, so when they explain things, time lines can be out of order, important details are left out, or worse yet, they can change things according to their mood. Communication is blurred and foggy, and misunderstanding are common. This really is not their intention, and often they cannot understand why people don't follow their explanations. The Mercury in Pisces person can accused of lying simply because they aren't clear. Anything artistic, especially music and poetry, are wonderful mediums for the Mercury in Pisces to use in communication.

Because they communicate with feelings and intuition, these are useful tools for them in self-expression. They are often wonderfully talented in these fields and they find it extremely satisfying as a way to release their thoughts and ideas to the world.

Aside from my sun, this is the only Pisces in my chart.

Any other Mercury in Pisces out there? How has having this placement affected you in your personal relations? In business?

I personally can't accept hard facts.
Another thing I've noticed is that I'm usually silent about my thought process or just give the final inference (or the most significant point in my opinion) because it's often difficult for me to describe my thought process coherently :/ (I don't have this problem around friends). But there's hope for Pisces Mercuries, in academia they'll be obliged to avoid unclarity. I've talked with people with this placement who articulate themselves really well. I wouldn't have guessed they have it. : )

In business I imagine a combination of communicative strategies and a knack for persuasion : D (I'm not there yet, so I don't really know)

And all my life with people in general and in academic life I've had people suddenly stopping and asking me "are you here?" Lol.. Its true I do zone out but..i apparently look lost when I'm concentrating too..

I've also observed a thing common among us Pisces mercuries.. We always think we are unable to convey our thoughts which are sooo many and sooo WIDE, with so many dimensions etc.. And we think we miss out on much while we express our thoughts, but others think we are doing great in articulating 😛

Well, I certainly can't explain things well. I fair much better when I have time to think about what I want to say, such as through text, emails, etc. In person I'm a mess.
But, I don't really think in images or based on intuition. I'm more of a logical thinker.

My Mercury is in Pisces .. I have very good intuition & insight. I've been told my eyes can glaze over while someone is talking to me but I'm listening. I feel other people's vibes/energy strongly. It's a blessing & a curse Œ

This is sooooo me! About your 2nd question. Affected me? Well, when I talked to my bf (ex now) he would cut me off! As if I couldn't explain to him in detail about my day, what happened at work, etc. Now I know why! Some males are INSENSITIVE (he is Saggy) and now that I severed that relationship; I won't allow this to happen to me. If I hear you out, you may give me the common courtesy of hearing me out, too!
