Actually my question was much more about the "meaning" of the act.

In the past, when I finally decided to have sex with a man, it's generally because I trust him, I'm attracted to him- and he makes me feel physically and emotionally comfortable.

Of course, this generally means I end up having sex with a close friend, and ultimately ruining a good friendship- but in many cases, the friendship blossomed into something worth remembering.

A guy who comes on too strong, or is pushy-- anxious, or seemed to be only focused on having sex just turns me off.

As far as knowing who is the "right" one-- well, I don't know. Since I've had more than one intimate relationship- I think it's safe to assume that I've made mistakes about who that "right" guy is.... so I can't definitely say-- that the next intimate relationship I will be in will be the absolute "right" person to be with.

Since I too am an Aries I feel the same way as STD in most cases. There must be something there for me...I must be intriqued mentally, by humour..or just something that out of nowhere "sparks" me into action - otherwise, I keep my emotions under control.

Thoughts about the word, "right"...what is right? what is wrong? Shakespeare says, "There is no good or bad till the mind makes it so." I am thinking for me that every relationship that I have been in has been "right" for that moment in time or else it would not have happened.

There is good in every situation and every situation offers us experience so that we gain knowledge - knowledge that is needed to live life.

I see your post from the questions you asked me then I asked you, come on we all know why we have sex, or are we talking about the meaningful kind— I really like being with someone I know and can experiment with and try many new things, one nite stands suck and for me just aren't worth my time, other people really could care less who have sex with and others like just having friends with benefits. I feel you at least need to have that attraction and wanting of that person yes i know there are times we all make mistakes in that area when are beer goggles take over lol. But you have to know what makes you want a woman? or a man.

1. you're assuming I've had one.
As my first post said, I generally end up having sex with a close friend- someone I cared about- and wanted to be emotionally closer to.

2. There are multiple reasons why people have sex. (a) Closeness, (b) fun, (c) babies.. and there are more. Sometimes people DO have sex just for pleasure. There's nothing wrong with that if both parties are consenting adults.

3. Why do people chose to have one night stands?
Well, Why not? How does that effect you and your decision whether or not to have sex with a person?

I don't consider it "allowing" somebody to have sex me- more-so I'm chosing to have sex with this person. So if I'm deciding to have sex with a person, for no other reason than to just have an orgasm, then why not?

Ok haffo, not sure what you're implying.. but I will say this, there have been times in my relationships, where my boyfriend says, "Hey let's have sex", and I was ready to do it! I didn't feel that there had to be any huge meaning behind it other than the two of us wanted to pleasure each other.

Additionally, there have been times where no words were exchanged at all- and the sexual experience meant more than any conversation we could have had.

So in other words.. Not just anyone can stop by my desk and say, "hey, wanna have sex.." just as easily as they can say, "hey, wanna have a picnic"- and I'll be "OK" with that...

I can understand when you do it to please your partner or for reproduction. But when it comes to one night stand which means to have pleasure just for pleasure, this kind of action is somewhat dishonorable. Altought, these are your bodies. You can do whatever you want with them. I just find such action as a irresponsibility.

Why is it dishonorable? These are urges that are instictively put in us. You can control these urges but some people choose to give into them.

Are they less honorable because they chose to go with the flow?

Are they irresponsible because they take full charge of their sexuality and CHOOSE to fulfill these urges rather than fight them?

I tend to see many people who I consider "prude" who toss and turn over every aspect of something that is natural...Unneccesary for survival but still natural.

These are the most unhappy people in the world!

I think you just have to EXPERIENCE sex first and stop looking at it so analytically. Then you might be able to understand it better.

One night stands are sometimes good when you just need a release but you have no interest in a relationship or maybe even trying to find yourself.

Say for instance...if a woman got divorced from a man she REALLY loved two month ago. She is by no means ready to jump back into a relationship casual or otherwise. She might still need time to heal, but in the same rite she still has these sexual urges. So does she sit at home and be horny and irritable and be considered by some "honorable"

Or does she go out, fulfill those urge and come back a much calmer relaxed individual with no strings attached.

Does this mean she is a slut? No, it means she needed a release and this person was able to provide it for her and they both move on with their lives.

It's all a matter of personal choice though...

Sweetie, I hate to tell you this, but there is no order and that's the order. I honestly believe cultural differences influence our thinking about sex because in each culture it is different. The true nature of the human being cannot be determined because we were given the gift of thought and discernment...so each person will be different. You can pretty much tell what one horse is going to do by the actions of another because they have certain instincts in them that are common to all horses. We also have the same instincts common to humans, but we use our gift of thought and discernment to figure out what we want to do in reality.

For instance if you are European...you will usually tend to be more free about your bodies and sex. That's why you can go to the South of France to a regular beach and see a topless woman and noone is looking at her strange.
Now if you go to certain parts of the middle east there are women who aren't even "allowed" to show their ankles, face, or anything.

Which one of the cultures are right? Who am I to say? It's just how it is! There have never been standards that are universal across the world. Even if there were...times always do and must change.

The beauty of one-night stands is that you are not supposed to be thinking of marriage and the state of the nuclear family...It is pure unadulterated pleasure. And if a woman OR man wants to engage in that...More power to them!
