Can i ask something? What is the deal witht the Republican and Democrat jokes? Is there a real divide in the States re- the republicans and democrats? It's like all the time you hear jokes on The Simpsons and stuff bagging the Republicans. I am confused. Is there a great political divide in the States over the two parties? Is the Republican govt. a conservative one?
Republicans are right wing, conservative. Democrats are left ring, liberal... But really, there's not too much of a difference between them, they're all scum bags. I only registered as Republican because I wanted to vote in the primaries...
Anyway, yeah, forget the parties, join me, and the Association of Anti-Categorical Pragmatists (AACP):
Do classifications get you down? Do you think both Democrats and Republicans suck? Do you take personality quizzes online and find that neither choice A nor choice B fit, but instead you'd opt for a choice C, only it's not givin? Well, then the AACP is for you. Forget all those rules about choosing sides, live by your intuition, and if it tells you to forget the established sets and boundaries and check in that little OTHER box, so be it!!!
"I only registered as Republican because I wanted to vote in the primaries"
Same reason here. I chose the Republican party because, I guess, they annoy me less than the Democrats. lol
Yeah LG I heard on The Simpsons that they have been making a lot of Republican jokes, I wouldn't know I haven't watched The Simpsons in years. But if you want a show that makes fun of both sides equally, watch Southpark!
oh and as to whether people make those jokes in real good old american life: yes. someone wrote in my yearbook: rebublicans are called right because they are. damn him. but yeah, the Simpsons are totally realistic: dracula is most definitely a member of the Republican party. But it makes no sense to have krusty the clown there, because he's jewish nd obviously very liberal so he'd be by default a democrat...hmm.... just my senseless rambling. yeah republicans are all going to hell. mwhahhahaha.
You know, originally, there was never meant to be two different parties. It's just ridiculous, I don't get it, The Democrats and Republicans are both a bunch of quarreling children, seven-year-olds could deal with problems more maturely then them. They argue here, debate there, fight over Constitutional Rights, and barley make any progress with anything by the end of the day.
It's sadly true in many cases. But still, I won't switch to "Independent" or "Green" party, because I really wouldn't be able to stand the idea that then my vote REALLY won't count. lol - no one from either of those parties (or any other third-party) will even win...or at least I highly doubt it. Plus, I've just grown so loyal to the democratic party and believe so strongly in its core values. I just wish they were represented more.
The whole Georgie "winning" the election thing has really only made me a thousand times more democrat than ever before.
I'm really sad that Gore isn't running this time around...maybe it's idealistic but I really believed in him.
The Democratic party is about 5 different party's under one roof. you have labor, gay rights, women lib, minority rights and the middle of the road people who don't know. on the outher side you have a undivided party who stands for what is right in america, greed and crouption. I need to renew my Irish passport.
The Democratic party (in my opinion) is more representative of the core values this country was founded on. But of course I would say that, being one. ๐ I agree as far as the "other side" is concerned. No offense meant to anyone who belongs to that party, and you yourself may very well be different, but generally speaking...
LOL. . . Neither party is representitive of the values on which this country was founded on. . . Although you could really argue which is more accurately interprets the constitution, which is ofcouse what they do. However, I really don't care very much about what the agrarian elitest values of the founding fathers were, I'm more interested in the what better suits the United States today.
It is true that some of the founding fathers (good ol' George Washington) felt that a party system would divide goverment. They felt that it would inhibit progress and create factions which would divide and destroy the government rather than represent it's seperate view points. However divided goverment seems to be a value of the American people today. If askes, most people will respond that they'd rather not have the goverment made up of everyone from one idiological party. . . No, they'd rather it be a mix in order to keep the balance of power in check and not allow any extreme measures from one group or another. This works out pretty well sinse the American people also seem to be split in half between the Republican and Democratic party. And really, half the time the "idiologies" of the two parties are just in theory only. The way the votes go don't necessarily reflect the party lines all the time, unless it's on major issues, and even then the parties don't always agree with eachother. The thing is that another value of American politics is that a representive should represent the values of the area which elected him, not his party. Basically everybody makes a lot of demands which half the time negate themselves, speak about a lot of ideoligies that are never followed, in in the end create a divided system that actually winds up being too large to seperate all the many little factions and instead blends them all together into a monotonous system where everyone complains and nobody gets what they want.
hmm. if you notice that the people that control the national party are nothing at all such espically seeing on the local level. i heard from my uncle that kerry said, he'd move America toward a more UN movement.
no, not nessicarly. i say, much more needs to be done. okay, i don't know why i've never like Gore, SNL great do that. Run the country as Pres. i just don't feel good about that. Kerry I wouldn't be to upset. odd. anyway there are issues that need to be addresed by both parites or by a new party leaders that represent more of the youth in both. Locally here people are all dem. but on national level they are repbl. The vaules and who has the power and such.
Lets just say....Australia was at war with Indonesia, and America and Britain (who are our allies)came and helped out. The allies used their aircraft and naval vessels but used ammo and misiles made and owned by Australia. The war went well (no casualti
