I've heard that being lonely isn't the aspect being alone, but the fact no one cares. But what if everyone around you truly cares about you with all their heart, but that itself makes you feel even more isolated and alone then if you truly were alone— Asking for a friend.

Loneliness is a state of mind. Apparently more common in extroverts. Regarding the original question either that person is looking for sympathy or doesn't see the love.

Completely agree that it has to do more with extroverts who need outside energy exchanges from people to recharge. Introverts recharge with alone time and being alone.
