Why do Water Sign Men (Specifically Pisces & Cancer) avoid Water Sign Women for Relationships?

Another thing Ive seen is water males act all fiery for fire sign women (extraverted, outgoing, perhaps brash, exciting, dramatic, sometimes loud) and these women aren't all that interested and then maybe they get together at which point the water sign becomes all watery in emotions (which other water sign and earth sign women genuinely like) but it repels the fire or air woman and then the cancer or pisces male gets labeled a stalker at which point they may actually turn into one. This very same behavior would be attractive to many water sign women (and earth ones too) as they would feel safe to emotionally connect.

I find myself enjoying the personalities of fire and air sign men more and don't feel like I'm being weighed down with them. I haven't been attracted to any earth signs as far as I'm aware.
I see many water signs dating fire and air, actually. Perhaps they're actually just naturally attracted to those elements.

When single, I attracted a lot of Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio.
I am married to a Cancer... So, water/water.
My most serious/deep relationships before my husband were with Pisces and Taurus.

The only Fire sign I ever dated was Leo. But it always seemed to be summer romances when on long vacations 😛. They are fun.
My PISCES sister also dated Leo's but ended in trouble. Her deepest relationship: Scorpio and they broke up only because he had to move away.
She is dating a Cancer male as well right now. Another Water/water!! They get along very well as well.

Ive seen the marriages to virgo and libra last, usually the aries trailblazes off with another fire sign (Ive seen this twice).
When cancer males are younger they love aries and libras best mostly, occasionally virgos and leos.
I'm weird I guess. I've had better progress with fire signs. I know where I stand. Water and Earth not so much.

Interesting viewpoint... I always think of cardinal signs as very quick to move forward and fall in love.. that would make sense why the aries-cancer dynamic is common.
I always have had a lot of cancers around me (my desc and 7th house cusp) so Ive had good opportunity to witness the mating rites here.. Also, where I live men prefer masculine signed women more, they tend to be more forward I guess. Being a shy virgo was never exciting when I was younger...haha.

Aahhhh.
Most of the fire sign women I know just take off when they cant take the deep waters anymore.. in a trailblaze. When I was younger, I was left on more than one occasion tending to a few wounded hearts, which was sad for me because these watery boys wouldn't give me the time of day as I wasn't flamboyant enough in makeup, hair or dress. It wasn't until I hit 30 that cancer men started to really take notice.

I don't avoid water signs, but i also like fire signs because of my venus and my moon,dated aries woman once, was the most alive relationship i ever had,might not have been such a deep connection as with pisces or a scorp, but it was more alive, more things to do,more challenges, more new things, the things my moon needs,so yeah, i also love fire, now dating aries girl,so far seems reaal good! 😄

@CocoKat - YES... Opposite can definitely feel like your other half / fatal attraction. It's beyond intense. I've experienced it.
But, with Aries (my Asc. opposite) I only felt that it was one-sided. I never felt more than friendship and understanding - we have the same type of energy sometimes.
So... Are you saying you connect more to your progressed chart?
I do very much connect to my progressed chart, as equally as my natal and I always find relationship connections in progressed charts that couldn't be explained other ways.

I want to add, I as a virgo find water sign men who are IN TOUCH with their water (not projecting it) extremely masculine and strong. I wonder if maybe the inability to be themselves... a young sensitive, watery male has them projecting onto fiery women the qualities they find most attractive as they are rejecting their own innate watery qualities and have not integrated them yet.

I think with the water signs, they are all so self-protective and cautious that it takes a long time for things to get started and the air/fire signs will often swoop in and try to get things started much faster.

As a cancerian (myself), I like taking care of people around me. If I meet watery-men, we will taking care of each other. There's no extreme up and down. It's like having a relationship with myself. Comfortable. But I feel like "something" missing.......... a bit boring.
That's why I prefer with fire sign. BUT water with water, the best match so far I know. Bcoz they were born to understand each other.

Whats really frustrating is the water male, usually an oversensitive pisces or cancer who tries to project the little fire they have in their chart as their personality doesn't actually get why his relationships don't work out and keeps on trying with the next shining fire sign instead of owning his water. Once he own his water, usually later in life his relationships actually work out, usually at that time he isn't looking for a fire sign female, just a female he is compatable with, the irony is that's when a lot of fire sign women are more attracted to him, because he owns who he is (it still doesn't mean that water doesn't put fire out).
