Posted by LillyPetalWow, ??
So strange you would ask this.
A synesthesic guy I met on campus asked me today if I wanted to meditate together.

Posted by PiscoxoLike I'm considering my spouse... I think it'll be fun and interesting
I think this could be fun, and really beneficial if you had the right partner to do it with.

Posted by DeeLovesRedI don't know. I was at work when he asked, then I had a jazz and opera production to go see with my Sea-Goat, so I told synesthesic that I couldn't.Posted by LillyPetalWow, ??

Are you thinking about doing it??click to expand

Posted by LillyPetalI have no idea, how I became interested in it was because I was asked to join. I haven't researched it or anything. But I think if I research it I might get different answers b/c every instructor would be different.. right?!
For this to work, does the couple focus on the same mantra during meditation?

Posted by DeeLovesRedYes, that makes sense. Personally, I have always enjoyed a home practice. The one time I decided to stray outside my living room yoga space and venture into an on campus yoga class was also the time the instructor pulled my arms back and then announced aloud how tight my shoulders were. I had begun weight training at that time and that was the reason I decided to go from the gym and into her practice. Her comment really bothered me because it's the antithesis of what yoga is supposed to be about - centering and finding your personal comfort in the asana as well as acknowledging any pain and accepting it - she made it about competition and how "good" you looked in the poses when she then praised those who couldn't touch hands.Posted by LillyPetalI have no idea, how I became interested in it was because I was asked to join. Posted by LillyPetal— see that's what I'm afraid of, I don't want to enter a competitive atmosphere.. where it feels like the other couples are watching to see who's doing better. I really want to connect on another level with my partner...Posted by DeeLovesRedYes, that makes sense. Personally, I have always enjoyed a home practice. I swore to never go into her class again after that.
Anyway, I have to do more reading about it. I've only hear if couple's meditation today, twice now.click to expand

So I think I'll try it at home first and then try it in the class setting. So that I could compare the two and choose which one is the better option for my future sessions...
