What do you mean by "thuggish"?
Never because even if I tried, my partner would , hands down, have my a $ $ served to him on a silver platter.
He’s 20 cm taller than me, and 180 lbs more than my weight. The hardest punch from me will feel like a pinch to him. (Tested before as a challenge from him)
Additionally, he refuses to box with me even if I tried to start it because he’s not a lowly savage. Neither of us are. This isn’t Fight club.

Never boxed a woman (not even a slap), which indeed... i guess it has a lot to do with the way i was raised (or my human condition - if you will). The possibility for that to happen - seems more plausible with a female stranger... chasing me with a knife. Anyway, call me old school... but i still find it weird (cringe like) - to see people treating this subject as if it's a casual thing. Even more than that - they'd love to normalize it - if they could. Tho, knowing the OP - wouldn't be surprised if she sees it like a cultural thing. 🤔

My girlfriend doesn't like to fight but can become physical when cornered or get in her face, so I have taken some blows from my fiance.
We know it's not healthy, but can it really be that bad when it's BOTH OF YOU?
Like my mom and my step dad use to box each other... At home or in the car. They just had a good fight a couple months ago, shit got broke, minor injuries occured, and my nobody cares. They are glad it happened.
