They say "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" but according to recent media reports it would seem some men are taking post relationship bitterness to extremes with this new phenomena of "revenge porn". Why are these guys seeking such devastating public revenge on ex partners who they supposedly loved? Surely this is more than just a case of TMI internet sharing, this seems like premeditated character assassination. Thoughts?.......

Because they have huge, insecure egos that are entitled as fuck.

A large portion of our society is stupidly entitled. They cannot stand that someone doesn't want to be with them and will flip a bitch when things don't go their way. Nevermind any shortcomings on their part. Or that there are guys who ignored that some chick was a stupid ho that was not girlfriend worthy (which I see all TOO often. They basically ignored all the signs, chases her for moronic reasons, get burned, and then blame her like it's all her fault).

That very same behavior also breeds shitty relationships because while he may not be the issue and SHE is, it's for the same reasons- selfishness and entitlement. People have no regard for others anymore. They're rude, self centered and treat people like options/useful source of some sort of benefit.

It's sad that when guys do the revenge porn bullshit it's met with "lol that bitch pissed him off," whereas if a female does something of equal retaliation she's seen as a "crazy bitch." Both situations guys are absolved of any responsibility of their own actions.

I also think that with the ease of the internet and availability of video capability being on every smart phone out there, accessibility to do something so fucked up is just easier to do than say, 15-20 years ago.

But Rocky, as adults most of us have experienced bad break ups and wished a plague of some sort on our exes, but this has gone way beyond cutting up someone's favourite suit or putting kippers under the hood of their cars. Yes we know how easy it is to get a message out to a mass audience via the www but we are also aware it's nearly impossible to remove those images and when the consequences result in the victim facing humiliation amongst her family and social circle as well as compromising her credibility in her professional life, this goes way beyond petty revenge.

I was going to question whether this was a new development in the male psyche but Tiz's post suggests otherwise!! How do you know this stuff Tiz?

Forget pre nups, it won't be long before we're insisting on 'gagging orders' before entering a new relationship ......scary times! _??_

No, I don't think the desire for revenge is gender specific but the use of the internet to humiliate seems have become increasingly common particularly more so among men ( please don't think I'm male bashing, it's just an observation from the press I've read).

How did you deal with your experience?

Good for you, maintaining your integrity with your business, there is far too much 'spin' used nowadays but the customers are not as naive and are more discerning than these executives would like to think.

Good luck with your ventures _??_

You gotta remember that with these generations being raised entitled and self absorbed, it also means they have NO regard for other's feelings and will do some fucked up things in order to get some sort of instant gratification for their oh so unjust pain and suffering. These individuals are also being raised very sheltered, so when it comes to facing reality, many can't cope and go to these extreme lengths.

I was reading an article the other day about this bs and the job market/other real life scenarios. In one instance, MOM came along with the kid to his interview. One girl broke down in tears in class and called her mom when she got a C on a test, only for mom to DEMAND that the professor talk to her immediately. Another came in, expecting to have her interviewers job in a year- with no experience. Nevermind that it took the interviewer 20 years to get to that position.

Very sheltered, lala land approach to everything. So when it comes to facing the music and understanding that this is something we all go through, you're going to get spoiled assholes doing things with no remorse.

I don't think it's the sole reason as to why this atrocity happens so often, but I think it's a major basis behind the motivation of it all.

And also, guys can be SO MUCH more petty and dramatic than girls. That's something I don't think that many women realize. Guys get just as bitchy as we do, depending on the situation.

There is no love when your actions are cruel. Love is not an excuse to behave ugly. It's rare one can decipher what love is anymore because of the media.

Any other reasoning a person makes is an excuse who lacks self control and self worth. You wouldn't break something that's valuable to you and you wouldn't do mean things for being scorned in love. How dare blame love as an excuse for treating someone nasty! Love is what prevents that.

You do not love that which you hurt.

Love turns to hatred when it's gone sour.
