So Anyway...

Someone on my facebook friends list wants to meet me , I dont ever remember "adding them" but i must have done in a moment of madness at some time or other...
The meeting venue is already arranged, I just had to text them today to tell them what time to meet there, which i did......Here i am six hours later (an hour passed the arranged time) and still no response to my text!!!
Im wondering if i should delete the person, or wait for the obligutory "message" explaining that they were so busy, or didnt get the message blah blah blah...
That person carries a mobile on them 24/7, my housemate thinks im over-reacting but i dont think i am. If for whatever reason you cant make it, it doesnt take much to respond to a text to let me know.........For all they know, I could have turned down another invitation to meet them....I think its very rude....

Do you think im over-reacting or is my housemate correct when he says just wait and see what the explanation is.....

Well that person probably was never serious about meeting you and/or getting to know you. People talk alot of good game over the computer but the TRUE test of their intentions can only be seen through actions. And this person not even spending 3 seconds of his time to let you know if he could/couldn't make it speaks for itself.

On 1 hand, I can understand why you're upset. This guy obviously approached YOU & came to you. You finally gave this guy the time of the day & now he's got the nerve to play the MIA card. No one is ever THAT busy that they can't send a 3 text that says "Sorry, can't come." When you gave him a confirmation time, that should've sent up a clue to him that you were very serious about meeting him & taking this thing 1 step further & the fact that he completely ignored you is NOT a good sign. Hell, let's stretch it & say this guy is only leading you on...pst! Even I'll take 3 secs out of my time to respond to an enemy, let alone someone I'm supposedly interested in.

However, there is no point in you getting all rowled up over this. You can "GUESS" all day but until he gives you an explanation (valid or not) you won't really know what his reasoning for ignoring you was.

Sounds like you've already got it made up in your mind that no matter what he says, you won't believe him OR that you'll atleast be suspicious/cautious from here on out. If that's the case then keep going on with your day & get back to doing what you would've originally been doing had this person never popped up in your life. If you keep stressing over it, you'll make yourself more mad, probably more than you really should be.

The guy stood you up & is unreliable. Bam. Now you know. If he comes to you in a REASONABLE amount of time (not 5 days later) with a good explanation, you can make the choice to forgive him or not. BUT if he doesn't, take it for what it is, & keep it moving. This kind of things happens all the time. Can't make sense outta nonsense hun

i would delete, but not yet block. a person can contact you with an explanation even if you deleted them from your facebook friends. but unless the explanation was a damn good one, i wouldn't accept it.

some people will only respect you if you're a bitch to them, and i don't want to waste my time with that. other people won't respect you no matter what, even less worth wasting time on. the only people worth associating with are those who respect everyone, and who perhaps revoke that respect if the person proves they don't deserve it.

a quick reply saying they couldn't make it would've been super easy.

I got my answer....

I got a text message the following moring apologising for not contacting me as they were ill in bed with Gastro...
Now as far as im concerned thats even more reason to text and let me know that its not gonna happen......
Because that was the response to my text (organising the time) i wonder, if i hadnt sent that, would i have gotten any response at all........
When i mentioned (in a nice way) that Gastro doesnt stop you picking up the phone and at least send a text......the answer was "i was too concerned with my own recovery"
However, that person has sent two private messages since..
I want to believe them but my gut feeling is telling me that "Something doesnt add up"

Go with what Venus?

Its not the "Being Sick" thing, everyone gets sick....
Lets say, you arrange to meet someone on friday night but you get sick and are ill in bed all day, im assuming you would at the least, send a text "hey sorry cant make it blah blah" to let the person know...
This person didnt, and for all they know, I could have been stood outside the restaurant waiting for them..

The fact that they did end up sending two personal facebook messages, i suppose is something....
But like my other mate said... "Couldnt take 2mins to text you - You havent even met and theyve already proved themself to be unreliable" that statement is going round in my head...

Well i kinda acted first and thought later, i deleted them....However my response to the last message was ""I hope your feeling better today" so its not a closed answer. I told my mate that i probably wont hear from the person again, but she said that if they went to the effort of sending you two quite long messages, they will message me again...
but i wont hold my breath.
Start a new job soon so at least got that to look forward too 🙂

yeah i would have called or texted to say that i was dying of sickness. i would have apologized and then asked to reschedule for the next week and then i would have made a point of saying "i really DO want to go out with you" because if the roles were reversed, id be worrying that the person was just trying to get out of something. but that's just me.....

you know what sign she is?

The person is "Taurean" of all things, i know so many Taureans, my housemate is Taurean, being a Cappy we automatically get on.....
However from what ive seen on their facebook page, they certainly dont seem Taurean, very extrovert, lots of friends, a lot of flirting going on......from my experience not a typical Taurean as the Bulls that I know are fairly quiet people.
Nope, nothings happened yet, as i said, i left the door open, but nothing yet....

Unless stranded, immobilized or on their deathbed, there really is no exuse for not getting back to you early on. It's called maturity, consideration & common sense. "Alot of flirting" going on - still, "after" agreeing to meet with you? If there is, that should be another red flag to consider. You "TRULY" don't know someone until you ARE face to face, have spent some decent quality time with them and proven their credibility. Reliability, consistency and trust really are KING, no matter how interesting you may "percieve" the person to be in the E-world. This could just be a person with a "bad" set of nerves or someone NOT to waste any more time on. Life's a gamble, and you do the BEST you can and either learn from or reap its rewards. At any rate, it really takes TWO "equally" incredible people to make it "IN & Out" of the e-(romance) internet world of "perception" and into life's reality..

G/luck to you, just the same, keep the faith!

Everything you said here is spot on. The person in question didn't have to go into detail about her gastro problems but she could've just said that she was ill or unwell - it's the consideration that counts!
