Same here, it's monday morning though YUCK

OK, here is a story of a couple I know. They were married for over 20 years, the wife stayed home to raise the kids, never worked a day. The husband works at some pretty lame job and is a compulsive gambler. Just recently she picked up and left them ALL and relocated in another country. Everyone is puzzled by this behaviour, no one saw it coming. She was such a doting mother. I can understand her leaving him but to actually leave the kids is what I think people are finding odd.

Do you think she just snapped??

It sure seems that way. Her family and friends all stopped talking to her because she did this.

and to add to the mix, she hooked up with an old flame from years ago...

He has been a friend since childhood so I want to side with him but I don't know if I could have handled the gambling for one year, never mind 20 years tbh. They are in debt up to their eyeballs.

They delete when they get called out by everyone and can't take the heat anymore...bit like when they delete in order to try and start afresh.

Some people don't think before they post...seemed like a good idea at the time...

Yes, the fact that she left the kids is what is strange. Thing is she wanted out and they didn't want to follow.

It's a bit selfish as that's leaving her family high and dry to deal with everything.
I'm a bit cynical about these sort of things as there's always the possibility of reconciliation further down the road after the worst has passed which in some ways would make it premeditated, to a certain degree at least, kwim?

I agree that it was selfish. BUT wasn't it selfish of him to gamble all their money away all those years? They never went anywhere, never had much. It's a tough one. I mean she hung in there for many, many years. Ahh, it's hard to say what one would do.

They never benefited from it, that I know. She stayed home all the time while he was out spending it. She took care of the kids and that was it. Also, eee, an addict doesn't stop when things get bad. As a matter of fact, he is still at it.

Yeah, no gains at all!! An escape? I don't know, I don't get how some people can throw away money like that knowing they have a family at home.

You people who want some juicy scandals need to pay more attention to the news.

There is more corruption, scandal and bad behavior oozing out of the 0bama administration than any other in recorded history.

Fast and Furious murders, Benghazi murders, IRS attacks on Americans, DHS/NSA spying on Americans, EPA attacks on petroleum/coal industry, Edward Snowden on the run from Orwellian agents seeking his arrest....

It's hard to keep track of it all.

Sandy Hook hoax/scandal, Boston murders/terrorism, Fort Hood murders/terrorism, Pakistanis killed by drones, Arkansas Military Recruitment Station attack, etc...

that's reality, we are here to escape that 🙂

That's true but I don't know how addicted he was in the earlier days. It might have been a gradual thing. Plus she had 2 kids with him, I guess she wanted to make it work. The kids are a little older now, guess she decided to go for it.

How did he start to pay off such a volumous gambling debt and where did the runaway chick go, btw?

From what I know, they are still paying off those debts. His mom bought them a home. They had no mortgage or rent. (yeah, I know) Could be the mom bailed him out many times with money, that's my guess. She went to Florida.
