While this might not contain as much class as James' discussion, in the fact that there is too much seriousness and not enough off the cuff humor, but- have you noticed that all the prophetic figures in history all seem to have the same names? For all the Almighty creative guy He is, he sure needs a boost in the creativity department. I was just doing some reading and noticed how often we think of Abraham Lincoln as a prophet more than a president, and then thinking of my own twisted prophetic traits, and what little knowledge I have of the Bible tells me of an Abraham and a Joshua- who I was named after. I wish I knew more about prophets, because I know plenty of Joes and he was one too!
So I guess my question for everyone is:

What do you think about the religious influence/impact in war? I'm not talking about the Crusades or Jihads but on the personal morals that lead people to kill each other in a war. I am sort of confused...

Jesus preacheed re-incarnation (born again) but his direct references were taken out of the bible b/c it didn't sit well with the society at the time. His teachings (and remeber he was born about 500 yrs after Buddha) were very similar to Buddha's teachi
