NEW TESTAMENT absurdity

ok, so iv'e been reading new testament psalms & proverbs and i'm on page 6. iv'e just got to the bit where Jesus is followed by crowds of people and begins to teach the desciples, and he says "You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultry.' ok fair enough. i agree. but then he goes on to say "But i tell you that anyone who looks at a women lustfully has already commited adultry with her in his heart" ok that's complete and utter bullshit, it's natural to look and it can't be helped. not only that tho, it goes on to basically say if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. aparantly it is better to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

so kids. if your happily married and happen to see a stunning hispanic honey strut pass, or a hunky italien beach ball professional. don't look and think "phwaaooor! i'd love to have a ride on that!" because you will have to gouge out your eye and throw it away. or you go straight to hell.

So long as people put this kind of importance on their physical selves .. then they will forever be lost in a world of punishment and reward.

And by lost .. I mean lost.



Even as you make this statement .. it leaves you confused as to why you are suppose to obey the rule.

good point atually. why should i obey or follow a set of rules and guidlines (basically) that was written ages ago by people with no real importance?

in that case then, i should of had a choice whether to be born or not

pfft. that's why i don't pray.

nevertheless tho, i can't deny that feeling as i write this statement it feels a bit bad, a bit wrong?

Perhaps you did have a choice ... I think that most people's memory only goes back to like age 3 or 4, maybe some can remember a tad younger.


Just because you cannot remember, doesn't mean it didn't exist.

Aries, I'm easy to understand ... a person merely has to realize that I normally don't address what is at face value.


You ask a question of effect .. and I talk about cause.

Most people respond to the effects of life .... and pass right by the cause .. and then wonder why life happens the way it does.


That's not hard to get, is it?

if you're going to read, especially the first 4 books of the new testament, you have to realize that "jesus" speaks in parables...kinda like a mercury in pisces 😛

you are not meant to take the passages literally and where you can do so, you would only be skimming the surface.

matthew 5 is not about removing body parts when they offend, what he's saying in general is that you must remain pure of heart and mind and if you are not, have some integrity...not for your "victim" because if you don't commit the act, who is harmed?

but the truth is, committing it or not, the thought itself is enough to diminish you and therefore it is not a victimless crime...the victim is you.

he is stating that thoughts can destroy you and that by rectifying those thoughts, "repenting," you move yourself into a more righteous state.

or look at it this way, say you get in an argument with a chick. you want to strike her. everything within you says, "hit the bitch," but you do not. or your child is acting up, whining, crying, stressed and you want to shake the shit out of the kid, but you do not.

what this passage says is that those thoughts are "evil" and that you must do things to address this "evil" within you because where you may not "hit the bitch" physically, you may "hit" her in other ways. where you may not shake your child to death, you may abuse the child in other ways.

so work on whatever is within you that invokes these feelings otherwise, you are doomed whether it's seen or not. be at peace within, not merely without.
