I don't believe that giant 50 foot Gundam or Big-O size mechas are possible because the idea of that is just plain absurd. It would be a walk barn with a target painted all over it. I believe that 13-16 foot tall Mechas are possible in some way, Mainly inspirations like the AMP suit from Avatar, the Tactical Armor from Gasaraki, or the Armored Core from AC5 (there's all sizes of AC's but AC5 gets a bit smaller), Heavy Gear. Keyword: 13-16 feet tall. I believe their purpose would be a support unit for infantry, but they can never tank on a tank and they would have to be very careful of anti-tank weapons such as RPG's or AT-4s. They would be very useful for going to places a tank couldn't go- such as forests, mountains, and hilly terrain. They would also be very useful for urban combat as CQB units designed as anti infantry weapons and small scale anti armor (No tanks, maybe APCs and IFVs). Do you think they would be possible? I think first we will develop wearable powered armor before we go on to develop pilotable mechs like the AMP suit from Avatar. Though one of the problems that can be addressed would be the legs would which be balanced by gyroscopes and stability devices within the legs.

Here are pictures for reference:

Well I think mecha is definitely a possibility in the future If you've got these things then you can build a mecha..

Well that sounds awesome. I hope tech like this will be applicable in the future. Exoskeletons would be the first step to making technology like that happen. Maybe by the 2050's we could have tech like mechas.
