Mine isn't. His self-esteem could use some improvement, so he doesn't see compliments as the truth. This makes him suspicious of your intentions.
He also doesn't give out a lot of flattery to people.

Also, I've learned that when a Scorp praises you, he genuinely means it and is hurt if you take it lightly. Sometimes people have trouble accepting compliments and praise from others. Be gracious and accepting of Scorp's praise.

I take compliments graciously and can sniff out false ones (hate those). I have a hard time really letting the real ones sink in. I don't see myself the same way others do.
Scorps can instantaneously figure what's a phony-azz flattery like any average soul can get a whiff of a dirty diaper and KNOW it's a dirty diaper.
What's more insulting is when someone thinks I will fall all over myself for some hollow compliment.

I, for one, don't particularly care for flattery. I can usually see right through it. Just be honest and
tell the truth. If I do good, tell me. If I do bad, tell me, likewise. Either way, tell me. BUT...
you had better tell the truth because, if, I already know it, the lie will surely be found out.
Nobody likes to be made a fool of, except the fool. And the only way to prevent that is to focus on righteous wisdom and practice that righteous wisdom in all things in life.
Now, what I have said has nothing to do with astrology, signs, etc. It's a fundamental truth
that applies to everyone: Treat others the way you want to be treated.
That said, flattery is dishonesty. Not a good thing.

Flattery is falsehood but compliments are not. The difference is that "flattery" is self-serving
while compliments are not. Actively seeking compliments for the sake of elevating self-esteem
is a falsehood because the self-esteem is invested in a temporal acceptance that comes and goes
with the wind of self-deception. Genuine compliments are freely given unexpectedly, but sought out compliments are not genuine just the same as flattery.
