Do you lead a double life?
I kinda of think that is more of a virgo thing (saintly appearance, sinful deeds) ... our glyphs are very similar. I just like to have a secret life, so maybe I have to have a facade for people who want to delve where they are not welcome. But not actually living a double life, if that makes sense
Really I haven't known very many Scorpio's who lead double lives- a lot of times the person we appear to be is very similar to the person we really are. I don't think I lead a double life, however I feel that inside I'm utterly more insane then I appear to be on the outside. I'm actually a very dark person most of the time- inside but not outwardly. I like to appear more bubbly than I really am though- it saves a lot of time where people would be asking me questions or wondering why I am the way I am. ....Or telling me I need a therapist.
I don't think I lead a double per say. I mean most people in public think I'm reserved and I'm not a quiet person. I just am listening/observing/learning all the time so I like hearing people talk.

I often think this about myself as well. I like to attribute that to my Mars in Aqua.. which I feel gives others a much lighter impression of me that is quite different from my wildly emotive deep-shade-of-carmine inner self. However, sometimes it's the exact opposite! People tend to assume I am a much more dark and sinister woman than I truly am on the inside.
I do sort of lead/have lead a double life in many ways. Y'know, the whole "daddys girl" at home, and then when the weekend arrived, I was out venturing into dark waters. I tell you, those were some mighty powerful and bizarre psyche altering experiences I had.

For me there are 3 sets of friends
a)The ones who understand me well, we bond emotionally,i trust them with my innermost feelings
b)People I enjoy spending time with minus sharing feelings.
c)People I see very seldom,not too close but still friends of sorts.
With a)I am completely open,speak without inhibition and they know and see the real me.
With b)& c),I enjoy their company but don't reveal anything much about myself.
So,as Djz05 said,it is compartmentalization.

Yes! I agree with this as well. I think naturally Scorpios are a combination of both extreme light and extreme dark which may lead people to believe that we are split in two. Which isn't that case- with us light and dark work in unison to a point which we really can't define nor can anyone else who knows or observes us. Whether we're a sweetheart at home and out doing naughty things on the weekend- or treading in dark waters else where, deep in our personal life. The sweetheart and sinister work in unison- not split but two parts of the same whole.

I just recently learned about the slang for DSL...
I have to say that I find that so disrespectful. Would someone say that to a woman to their face? If not, no matter...its just as disrespectful online.
I just looked it up. Lately I've been ignoring MD posts, so I didn't even read it. This is why. I totally agree.
I also hate the term DSL. I don't see how it could be construed as a compliment by any female, it's just offensive. Like treating a beautiful feature on a woman as an object meant for male pleasure. Rather than respecting a beautiful thing when a male see's it- he is convinced it exists for his pleasure, THAT'S delusional. It's annoying- plain and simple.
But as I said before- I don't think Scorpio's typically lead double lives. We are who we are, we just have many different layers to our personalities. Our lives sort of fluctuate along with the light and dark sides of our psyche. Not really something we can help- extreme lights and darks are a big part of who we are, pieces of a whole.

I have been out riding a bike all night with friends and have attended academic conferences next morning,enjoyed both equally.

There's a difference between having confidence and charisma and being a rude asshole. And usually men who are extremely crude towards men are the one's with tiny penis's- girls go for them, not real women who have respect for themselves. Scorpio women are a pleasure to be around. You just have to ignore half of the emotively driven nonsense that spews past their brain, which should otherwise act as a filter. If you can master this you can be friends with Scorpio.
