Something most of us probably wonder about.

Do you think you have met your soul mate even if you are currently not together? Do you think you may have met more than one soul mate in the past? Do you even believe in a soul mate or "chance meeting"?

Some of my past relationships have involved strange meeting, and people of different countries in different places. One in which we felt a great bond, but something was very unhealthy about us being together, and I feel like we both sensed we didn't belong, but it was hard to let go. One can only wonder. 🙂

I believe we have more than one soul mate and they don't have to come in the form of romantic relationships. Also I believe what APP said; they're there to teach you lessons and not always ment to be there forever. You might think you've met your soulmate...then suddenly it goes REAL bad...what did you learn from that situation? You also learn things from good relationships but you learn them faster in the bad ones. Romantic and non-romantic.

I also believe you could have a soul mate that brings both good and bad to the relationship. Maybe it's a rollercoaster relationship with a whole bunch of lessons to make the both of you better people and open your eyes to more things and view points than before you met the person.

Exo, you're right about infatuation...and that's great that you've met your kindred spirit! 🙂

Princess--I have also heard that most of the time we don't end up with our soulmate, which is sad. The last guy I met I think may have been a soulmate, but then again right now I don't think I know for sure. What I do know is that in a short amount of time I believe he came into my life to teach me a great deal. I can say he may have come into my life to change me, or better prepare me for the things coming into my life in the future.

I've actually done alot of research on soulmates & I was shocked to discover that what most people actually know/think about the aspect of "soulmates" is actually completely different than the original theory of how it works, if you will.

According to research:
1. We all have many different soulmates, of BOTH genders
2. Our blood family members are automatically considered soul mates
3. Someone that is your soulmate may NOT necessarily be someone you even like, consider attractive or feel that instant connection with like we've all seen in the movies.
4. Soulmate connections are moreso spiritual than they are physical or emotional
5. Your soulmate is NOT your "other half." It's actually someone whom you've known/been with before in your previous lives (Of course you'd have to actually believe in that theory to believe this)
6. Just b/c someone is your soulmate doesn't mean that you'll be in a long life-lasting relationship with them.
7. Some people never meet their soulmates
8. Animals can be soulmates too, not just human beings.

The original theory of what true soulmates even are is almost NOTHING like what the average person thinks it is. The soulmate theory is actually very DEEP & complex and is nothing like what we see in the movies or have heard/read about in relationship books.

In order for a person to fully understand the aspect of soulmates, they must 1st believe in reincarnation AND in the aspect of religion/spirituality, b/c the soulmate theory is deprived off of those 2 aspects mainly

Quietstorm- I agree, I don't believe in a "fairytale" soulmate. Aferall, we are all humans, and nothing or no one in this life is perfect. Everything good or bad must come to an end.
"If two people are "soulmates" what happens when one dies? Does that mean they are just assed out and never find another soulmate again?" No, I don't think you're is assed out lol, I think everyone can have more than one soulmate. I guess I am getting what you are saying. What makes someone a soul mate, and another person not?

Elle- I love your post! I also loved the movie Eat, Pray, Love 🙂
this quote: "A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life, then introduce you to your spiritual master" really hit me hard when I read it. I feel like thats at the place I am right now. I met a Cancer not too long ago and because of different circumstances he ended up meeting someone else. Although I have been in a lot of my pain my eyes have opened really WIDE to the person I was becoming. Through meeting him I have been able put on my "emergency breaks" and take a long hard look at who I am, and where I am going. At this point I am in a state of confusion over everything...meeting him, moving on with my new life, where I am heading etc. I am not sure if he is my soulmate because there is too much hurt there and because it all just happened, but in a way I know he was sent to me in one way or another. Now, he may also have been God's way of opening my eyes, and not exactly a soulmate. I don't know, but right now I am doing a lot of wondering lol! Also despite the pain I have been feeling, I don't think I want to go back to that relationship, nor do I want him to reappear...."Nah. too painful"= on the money!

Now, about reincarnation, I don't know if I believe in that either :-/

"It seems there's always at least one guardian angel looking over me (deceased grandmothers or still alive person)"
..speaking of, I had this psychic reading once where she told me she saw a lady who had passed away who was looking over me. The only person I could think of was my great grandmother, who was practically an angel on earth. I don't know if it's true, or if someone who dies can become an angel, but I feel that she is with me.

So it seems we supposedly do have more than one soulmate, which seems to make more sense now. This could be a friend, romantic partner, etc. As previously stated on the board, soulmates kind of shake up your life and change you (could be good or bad experiences) to make you into the person "you are meant to be". There is also some kind of karma tied in with soulmates.

Snowchild, what you are referring to is a twin flame, or twin soul, which is our ultimate other half, and we only have one of. I don't know about the whole Plato and Zeus parts though, lol!

Either way, love is love...no matter who you are in love with 😉
