I'd say Julia Roberts for many of you because she's got that elusive quality about her, yet at the same time she's got this bundle of emotions. The other thing is, she, like most Scorpions adopt you as a friend. You really don't make the decision about friendship or a relationship because they've either already selected you and their mind is going a million miles as to how possess you (meanwhile they look so distant or cool on the outside).

One of my all time favorite Scorpios is Whoopi Goldberg. She's sarcastic, sharp, funny, and deep. She can make you laugh and cry all at the same time. All the important qualities that make up a Scorpio.

Don't care for Meg Ryan though. She's forever crying and whining about something in her movies. It's kinda annoying. Kirsti Alley is a Capricorn btw.

64:

Yeah, I hear ya, I LOVE Whoopie. In fact last summer she cam to the city I live in and did a live stand up show; it was the most hilarious thing I've ever seen. It was also extremely graphic, raunchy, all kinds of sex material. It was truly so funny that my cheeks hurt from smiling so much when I went home. She is so cool. I was lucky enough to score a middle of the front row seat...how awesome was that!

About Meg Ryan, I should clarify something (I thought about this immediately after I posted it but figured, eh, I won't worry about it...but now I feel the need to clarify)...when I said my personality is most like hers, what I was referring to was the deceptively ditsy, always getting mixed up in love situations type stuff. Not so much the crying/whiny element, but I totally know what you're talking about. Okay! Hope that made sense, just didn't want to give the wrong impression...lol.

I wonder half the time how many Scorpios there are out in the world. I never hear too many people being born in late Oct or Nov, but I know ya'll are out there somewhere! As they say, the freaks come out at night..lol

Btw Phoenix, it's really hard for me to see you as the ditzy type. May be that is all just a guise. Goldie Hawn always appears to be the light hearted, smiley type, but I know there's a devilish mind at work there..lol

After all, not all Scorps are what they appear to be. I used to have a dear friend of mine in school, he's a Scorp, very talkative and easy going. I loved him because not only was he handsome and tall (sucker for the tall ones), but he was both opinionated (like me ) and exciting.

Funny thing he told me, which I'm kinda shocked I did this to him when I found out his sign, but he told me when he met me that I made him feel dumb! I looked at him like he was nuts, but he could tell me exactly everything that happened between us when we met. I just stood there grinning and kinda proud that I had that affect on him. He also worked me everyday to approach me and talk to me (claimed he was intimidated) I find that very hard to believe, but he seemed sincere when he said it.

Anyway, I find the greatest bad boys to be Scorpios because they know how to work that aura. It's in the way they move and look at you. They know their charismatic and magnetic, so they work it with such finesse that you never know you're being lured until "bam!" They've got you.

I-sun, you're probably too used to yourself to notice your impact, or you're just too humble. But it's usually the quiet, serious, strong types you gotta watch for!

64, that was a very interesting story about your Scorpio friend! See how even though we appear to not be analyzing everything, we really are? lol. And it is possible to intimidate a scorp. Keep in mind that our "imperious" looks (ha ha) defy our inner nature. It's like the Cancer's outer shell. The crustaceans do it to protect their emotions; we do it for that reason also, but for the additional purpose of hiding our intensity and thoughts. The intensity only becomes clear when we feel okay about showing it. The thoughts we'll share when we've determined we can trust you (which your friend did). You are so awesome and funny 64, your posts crack me up and are also well written. Now about the ditsy thing...yep, you are 100% right when you say it's all a guise. I will fully admit it; it is my "social masque" that comes out any time I'm out and about! I don't know why I do this, and the thing is, it's not a "oh look how stupid I am" thing, it's more of a "life is beautiful, everything's humorous, boy I'm so lighthearted" thing. lol. Maybe it's because I'm afraid if I show how serious I FEEL, others will not want to be around me because I'm dragging them down. I don't know! I do wish that I could act more like I feel without caring how it affects anyone else. I don't do it to be fake, I mean I'm not trying to give anyone some false sense of who I am, and I often forget I'm doing it until one day someone I hang out with sees me in a bad mood, and they're like "wow, I had no idea you had that in you". lol. They're always surprised, so I guess I must put on this social masque a LOT. : )

Well I thought of something...

I think we should also talk about who we think is LEAST representative of us.
I will go first: EMINEM. AKA "Slim Shady"/"Marshal Mathers". I found out he's on the cusp of Libra & Scorpio...Libras, you can have him...lol, just kidding : )

Phoenix, my love, I think the interesting thing about your sign and even Aries, Leos, and Capricorns is that we're all leader signs. We're able to motivate and lead others, yet we're a contradiction when it comes to ourselves. I think a lot of people who are used to being strong carry the burden of not being able to show their vulnerability every so often.

They're afraid that somehow people will take them for granted or that they'll question their authority as it may.

I think you'd feel much more satisfied as a human being if you grew more comfortable showing the real you whoever that may be. Don't be afraid that others will shun you or see you as a downer. Some will, but those who seek quality and depth in a person will be drawn to you and will appreciate you for who you are.

You only live once, so make the most of it until the next lifetime. My dear phoenix, perhaps your lesson for this lifetime is to grow more comfortable with yourself and begin looking more within yourself and seeing a beautiful human being staring back at you.

Deep down you know who you are, now you must be that person. Don't live for others. Live for you.

I am sorta jealous of Scorpio's celebrity list! I love Sally Field, Goldie Hawn, and Whoopi Goldberg!! Strong, funny, talented women who contribute to society in a positive way and stand up for their beliefs!

Although there are good people of every sign...

I could always relate to all three of those women...
I have been told that I resemble Sally...but, I really don't...and once a guy thought I looked like Raquel Welch...very dim lighting (and brain!! LOL)...

I don't know what sign she is...but, I am nothing like Brittney Spears (or at least how I imagine she is...thinking the world revolves around her!) Yeah! I agree about Eminem...I don't know his sun sign either...

66,

Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and wisdom! Very inspiring to me! Made me feel like saying, "screw the world, take me as I am"! That was a wonderful post, thank you!

Yes I too love Sally Field, Goldie Hawn and Whoopie Goldberg, to the last poster. They show that it is possible to be funny and silly and strong and intelligent at the same time.

Princess Grace of Monaco (sp?)--another great one. Beautiful and dignified...very classy. I must confess my ignorance here though--who is Josephine Baker and why did the Princess give her a house?

P.S. I believe Britney Spears is a Sagittarius...yep, she was born in early December so I'm pretty sure. I have a general problem with her because I literally feel like she is setting the whole feminist movement, all the progress we were making, back about ten steps. I have yet to hear a thoughful, intelligent, original lyric come out of her mouth (not that she even writes her own music so I guess I can't blame her). I think she is beautiful and nice on a surface-level, but I also feel like she is playing into the hands of every horny 16-year-old boy who is seeing a young woman who would otherwise be worthy of some respect, shaking her stuff around like a cheap stripper and talking about nothing of any significance, ever. Therefore she's setting all women back in the eyes of young (or stupid) men. We are back to being the objects we have for all these years been trying to rise above being. Me, I go for music by strong sexy women like Sheryl Crow (who says a lot in her songs), Sarah Maclachlan, Jewel...at least they believe in what they say, and they know what they're talking about, and know how to be hot without being cheap and unclassy about it.

Wow, sorry for the Britney tirade! lol : )

Josephine Baker was a great singer from I believe the 50's. She was like a Billie Holiday. She too was a magnamous and wonderful woman with a beatiful heart. She took the idea of races living together in harmony one step further by adopting children from all over the world. They were called her "Rainbow Tribe."

Unfortunately, she lost her home in France due to the fact that she had so many children and bills and not enough money to pay for it all. So, Grace Kelly gave her a home to live in.

Yeah, I'd have to agree on that one. Britney Spears is hardly responsible for setting back women's lib.

Infact, with the way the women are handling things these days, I hardly wanna be associated with feminism

I don't believe you have to a b-i-t-c-h to get your point across about equality.

I actually think women as a whole are contributing to the behavior of men and how they view women. We're teaching men that they don't need to open doors for us or pull out our chairs or treat us like the queens we were meant to be!

We've got the whole women's movement backwards. I WANT a man to treat like the delicate flower that I am! It doesn't mean that he has any less respect for me. Infact, he probably has more! We've missed the entire point about what women's lib stood for and brought it down to such miopic things such as opening doors and paying for things. That's so trite.

Furthermore, other men and younger fathers are teaching their sons what being a man is all about, when they too have got it all wrong.

It is us WOMEN who teach a man to be true men and to have respect for us. Britney Spears, although not a great icon is by no means anymore responsible for today's youth than parents, teachers, friends, etc.

I don't lay ALL the blame on BS, I don't even think she's intelligent enough to try to sabotage the fem movement, and if she is, I don't believe it's her aim. My problem started when I saw five year old girls saying they want to be "sexy like Britney" and therefore eat *paper* so as not to get "fat". Where are the parents to control what their children are viewing and how it affects them? Since there is such an epidemic of non-involved/irresponsible parents, the rest of us are forced as a society to hold out hope that those people with money, fame and power will at least refrain from exerting such a negative and destructive influence over kids ("I believe the children are our future/teach them well and let them lead the way" LOL, cheesy but you know what I mean)--if not actually doing something helpful or positive with it.

By the way, I don't claim to be a feminist. However, I also do not see all feminists as "bitches" just by virtue of them being feminists. There are bitchy, barefoot & pregnant & likin' it, soccer moms as well.

I also love a man to be chivalrous and masculine. I prefer it over over-sensitivity and spinelessness.

But I still believe BS is more of a negative presence than a positive one. That's all I'm saying.

Yo, phoenix as usual I agree with you. You said it so perfectly about parents being irresponsible and uninvolved.

Raising a child is about total committment. It's one of those all or nothing things, and unfortunately I think it's unfair to expect that some famous person is going to be a role model for your children when you're not around. It doesn't work like that.

Most people like Britney Spears don't see themselves as role models and don't wanna take on the responsibility.

Therefore, the responsibility lies back on the parents to reinforce positive and healthy messages to their children. Society needs to stop placing the responsibility on others and put it back where it belongs.

In my opinion, if you're not ready to become a parent and make a full-time committment, don't become one. The same thing can be said about marriage. You owe it to your spouse and your children to give your all.

Also, you can't really blame Britney when it's children and teenagers and even grown men who promote her.

Consumers have the power to tell the media and advertisers what they want and what they don't want! Apparently, a lot of people want Britney and Backstreet Boys and all of them.

So, if we don't pay lip service and hard earned money to that stuff, then may be it won't be put out there as much.

Another thing is that although, women are taught not to express their sexuality, and that's also a bad thing which sets us back. It only reinforces that we're sluts, whores, etc. when we express that part of ourselves. It also makes us repressed like a few of those women from the Cappy board.

I absolutely agree with you on just about everything. And I do agree that it's unfair to expect celebs and the like to take on the resposibility of being a role model. My only point on that, is that unfortunately there really are so few parents that actually give a rat's hiney, that it seems the famous, public rich people are our last hope for giving the little kids of today any idea of how to conduct themselves. I wish that parents WERE more involved, but I'm just saying that since it looks like a lot of them are more concerned with either extreme of partying because they're too immature to actually raise their offspring, or on the other end they're more concerned with making MONEY (in order to provide "things" for their kids, never mind guidance, wisdom, morals, values, blah blah blah)...that it seems it now in fact does "take a village to raise a child". And then if we as a society falter at providing some semblance of decency, some example of how to be an upstanding citizen who actibely participates in the betterment of "the whole", then that "demon" that no one wants to confront (responsibility) falls back to the parents...omg it's an endless cycle! lol.

I was the one who made this into a BS bashing by bringing her up as a negative personna.
My problem with her has to do with the time recently that she called in 'sick' to a little girl with cancer through the Make-A-Wish-Foundation...but, performed just a few hours later...and did not appear sick at all...
I know cancer patients are immunosuppressed, so maybe her reason was legit. But, there was no rescheduling time for the little girl's wish...
