Taurus friend acting funny

ok, so me and my taurus guy are just friends and we
have always been cool. Even though I know he likes
other females or hangs out with them it never gets to
me. (lately) lol...

So anyways, lately he has been doing things OOC.
He tried to call me out on something through email
in front of everyone and he was wrong. He then tried
to send a follow up email explaining himself but I was
confused why he would do these things.

Then he sent me this email asking if I was going to a work
social and I was like yes, why you ask and he responds I
just wanted to know if you were going.

My mother's cancer returned and we are not sure if she'll
make it and I usually don't open up about such things but
I have learned not to hold them in and I shared my frustrations
with him and he asked why all the drama? I'm like my mother is dying
then I just shut down and changed the subject.

So I didn't call him or say anything to him and he called me today
saying he was just checking up on me ...we talked for a bit but the
conversation was really ackward like he really didn't want to be on the phone.

So I emailed him about a project we are working on because he was
suppose to provide me a piece of information and he got snippy with me
and talked to me like I'm in his child....but it's email and sometimes
you can misinterpret what a person is saying..

So should I say something to him? Like, "what the hell is yo problem?" because
he about to meet my evil Taurus Twin because the angelic one has been very nice.

What do you guys think?
