What does this mean for a taurus to do this?

My aries friend has recently informed me that my Taurus friend, (Vanessa)for those who know the story, is engaged to her roommate..and has been for five years....I knew she was in a relationship I just didn't know it was that serious.....im devastated to hear this..i mean she always talks about her roommate and even discusses things that they do financially...but she never made it sound like they were serious...i mean even on her roommates b-day etc. we would talk on the phone or whatever...I feel weird now...ive talked to friends n cousins about this but wanted to ask on here what you Taurus think of this situation...have you ever done this to someone? or known someone who did?

It doesnt stop me from loving her or being there for her but it does crush the hope of being more...I think the reality hasn't really sunk in yet...my heart sunk when I heard it but no other emotion has come....its just kind of there...I feel numb right now...not sure which direction to go...

A five year engagement is ridiculously long. Why haven't they gotten married yet?!?! This seems suspect to me. Why not ask her about it?

In any "a friend told me" scenario I'd have to go with this.. Sure it might be true, but these things are never for certain until you hear them from the actual person. I wouldn't take it to heart so soon.

I've kind of sorta remember the bulk of the story. In a relationship or engaged, what did it matter? You already knew she was in a relationship so I don't see how being engaged would change much. If I know someone is in a relationship, I don't think to myself that I still have a chance. I simply move to someone else. You need to also, as blunt and Taurus-like as this is.

And I have a friend that's been engaged for 9 years lol They're enjoying life too much to simply put thought over a one day event, as I agree.
