what's so hard to understand about the word NO?

This topic was created in the Taurus forum by HappyBee on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 and has 9 replies.

Understanding the Importance of Respecting Boundaries

Respecting someone's boundaries and their right to say no is essential in all interactions. Persistent pursuit despite clear disinterest can be seen as disrespectful and unwanted. Healthy communication involves accepting rejection gracefully and giving space, which fosters mutual respect and boundaries.

I am still very much head over heels with my beautiful Gem 🙂 ....went out with my gf who intros me to an acquaintance of hers.....eh, nice guy no big deal. She gives him my number - geez thanks girlie....and he then proceeds to text call and bother like it's going out of style . Been kind, courteous...moved to being a B at this point, sent the calls direct to VM....but the texting hasnt stopped (nope I dont answer any of them)....not understanding why I'm not interested in him....UH Cause I have someone else idiot. So I dont understand how anyone thinks that extreme and aggressive pursual is the way to convince another person who isnt interested to give you the time of day......just wondering your thoughts.....and I'm definitely not all that.....

"Dear Phone Nuisance. I have a partner. Stop intruding into my life. I do not want a relationship or friendship with you. Last warning. Next time, I'll lodge a complaint with the police. Now fuck off".

Now that is effective. ^^

There is always sarcasm. One of my personal faves. "While the delightful thought of lust filled evenings with your cocktail sausage does entice, I am afraid I must regretfully decline. If you have any trouble understanding the point I am desperately trying to hammer home, please speak with Mr. Manful Man O'Mine, thank you so much. Have a wonderful day."

LOL --- So the police thing seems to work wonders for waking people up! Thanks NZAqua 🙂 The calls have stopped and my gf has apologized profusely.....and VB I delight in sarcasm....tragic but it works well (insert fiendish laugh here). It just amazed me that an individaul would be that insistent especially with someone they barely met and dont know! Heck my ex cappy was like that but at least that was AFTER it was over **sigh** Oh well if it wasnt for all the weirdos in the world I wouldnt look as normal as I do I guess.

Well, sometimes people play hard to get and some people just really love a chase (like me). Ignoring some people only make them try harder because there's ego, competitive nature, and all sorts of other things that NOT KNOWING what's going on allow for. If you don't like the guy and aren't interested in knowing him even as a friend, you for real need to just text him back and say "look, I have someone else in my life right now and there's just no time for you." Thanks Eyeofthebull....and yes, did all of that. I am very direct. There wasnt really a chase per sea...more like me saying "no thank you I'm not interested I have a wonderful someone already".....and he didnt seem to understand...then repeating about several times....via text and a couple of calls then "please do not contact me again I have no interst in you at all, not today tomorrow or ever".....then sending all calls direct to vmail. And at the grazillionth text a nice "Please understand that this now borders on harrassment and the next text will involve a police report". Since then no more crazy calling and texting. I dont play games with people...or their feelings 'cause I'd hate for anyone to do that to me....I've been told I have the subtlety of a freight train. 🙂

Haha, if you were totally up front about "NO" then yeah, that guy is totally desperate and has absolutely no finesse! I bet it was a headache getting him to leave you alone if you had to resort to threatening him with the police. Your friend needs to quit playing matchmaker lol

right? and yes....he was a pain....I told my friend if he's like this with me and this was only 4 days (before I posted on here) - it's easy to see why he's single. Geez. And she was soooo sorry it was sad. She didnt know what he was like....I got a few free drinks for my trouble though, she felt it was the least she could do. LOL
