The actual speech:

she's such a close minded ...ugh.

whose going to build your sky rises and your wall of china bridges, and go mining down deep under for resources?? Do you think that WOMEN can do those things that men have done for centuries?? DYING for them, for their women and children in the military. Working from the sweat of their skin and back in coal mines, and sky high rise buildings, so that women could DISRESPECT them like this??

SMH...

Cannot STAND this bullshit.

Wait. What? How does respecting women who take a stand about things they are passionate about be bullshit?

Also i resent the picture you posted as well. What the fuck?

Entitlement? NO!

Sorry i dont get your thought process.

Sometimes there are moments in history that are defining. Sometimes women do amazing things. Sometimes they speak in such a way that it captures the thoughts of a generation.

I don't get why you have a problem with it. Is it because i did make one for men to? Celebrating the achievements of women is not in anyway putting men down.

(I wonder if you will even see this.)

Right, onward and upward!

Today i am going to pay tribute to Yoko Ono - Japanese artist and peace activist, known for her work in avant-garde art, music and filmmaking.

(Aquarius Sun, Sagittarius Moon, not sure about other placements)

Born in 1933. She had remained in Tokyo through the great fire-bombing of March 9, 1945, during which she was sheltered with other family members in a special bunker.Ono and her family were forced to beg for food while pulling their belongings in a wheelbarrow. It was during this period in her life, Ono says, that she developed her "aggressive" attitude and understanding of "outsider" status. (taken from wikipedia)

Ono has been an activist for peace and human rights since the 1960s and still actively continues to promote peace through her work. She was an artistic pioneer who challenged held artist philosophy and show that she was an independent free/deep thinking creator.

@Ulalume thanks so much for your fantastic contributions to this thread. I only know some of the women you posted so i am very excited to read about the other ones.

Ok, my next contribution is actually a Buzzfeed article. I had not heard of the majority of the women in this article so its fascinating to broaden my knowledge.
